Introduction

Last week John Points specifically to Jesus
Now Jesus takes the driver seat and will Teach of the kingdom, heal and perform miracles in order to demonstrate the power and authority He has been given. All of this to Glorify God the father.
We have an interesting lesson today, Luke tells of this miraculous catch of Fish and all of love the thought of this. We are drawn to the stories of Jesus Doing the miraculous: feeding the 5k with 2 fish and the loaves. . . raising of Lazarus. . . the woman touching the helm of his garment.. . . why is this?
We love to see greatness on display! We enjoy seeing people who are the best of the best Doing what they do best!
Many of us during the COVID grieve not having sports. . we love to see greatness- MJ, Kobe, King James, Wilt. . Tyson. . ALI
musicians. . Sam Cooke, Franklin, Prince
That’s what we see in the Life of Jesus we see greatness at its best and In this story we see some important teaching moments as Jesus call his disciples

Session in a Sentence
When Jesus called His disciples, He called them to follow His example of intentionally seeking the lost.
Christ Connection
Jesus came into the world to call sinners to repentance and to lay down His life on their behalf. Likewise, as His followers, we are to tell others about Jesus and call on them to turn from their sin and trust in Jesus.
Missional Application
Because Jesus gave up His life for us and we have committed to following Him, we intentionally invest in others so that they might become His disciples as well.

1. Jesus calls His disciples to trust His leading (Luke 5:3-7).

Trust. . who can you trust? Many of us have put our trust in people and things, ideas and dreams.
But as the songwriter says: my hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus blood and His righteousness. . . On Christ the Solid rock I stand!!!
Why trust. . He is dependable and reliable in every circumstance. . in every situation God has shown His faithfulness to us all.
Luke 5:4 ESV
And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
Peter who is plays the role of Best supporting actor shows us a picture of what our trust unfortunately looks like. . we waiver. . we vacillate. . we forget.
He witnesses Jesus heal his mother in law in
Luke 4:38–39 ESV
And he arose and left the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was ill with a high fever, and they appealed to him on her behalf. And he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her, and immediately she rose and began to serve them.

2. Jesus calls His disciples to fish for people (Luke 5:8-11).
