Intro

Welcome parents & thanks for joining our shelter in peace series. This week’s focus is: I CAN FOLLOW GOD BECAUSE HE IS SOVEREIGN

Object Lesson

For our object lesson, you will need a couple handfuls of loose change (pennies & nickels will work just fine - bust up those couch cushions & look in your center consoles) & a spatula. The goal is to build a tower with the coins and then dislodge the bottom coin without disturbing the whole tower.

The tower will look something like this

If you have multiple kids, one way to make this lesson more fun is to see who can build the tallest tower in 20 or 30 secs; or see how many times each child can dislodge the bottom coin in 30 or 45 secs

Closing Verses

As you complete the lesson, direct their attention to Matthew 6:25-26 & Philippians 4:6-7 to remind them that no matter what, God is in control. Much like their towers, our lives can be a bit unsecure or dangerous, and us trying to control it can turn our great some of the time or not quite how we plan it.

Lets encourage our kids where they can find peace in a season like this.
