I- ALL – KNOWING (1 PETER 1:2)

A- God knows all about your past.
1- He knew all about Nathaniel. (John 1:49)
B- God knows all about your present. (Matthew 7:4)
1- he knows all of your thoughts (1st Chronicles 28:9)
2- he knows all of your arguments. (Luke 9:46)
C- God knows all about your future.
1- God sees our future as though it were now.
2- He sees were all paths will lead.
D- Our responses to his knowledge:
1- confession
2- Thanksgiving
3- surrender

II- ABUNDANT IN MERCY (1 Peter 1:3)

A- God’s abundant mercy is shown in his sacrifice of his son. (John 3:16)
1- we deserve death and hell. (Romans 6:23)
B- God’s abundant mercy is extended to us over and over again. (1 John 1:9 – 10)
*compare our forgiveness to his!
C- Our responses to his Mercy:
1- obedience
2- love

III- ABLE TO KEEP US (1 Peter 1:4 – 5)

A- God keeps us safe from falling.
1- We are not kept by our own power, but by his power.
(John 10:27 – 30)
(Romans 8:35 – 39)
B- God keeps our inheritance safe (1 Peter 1:4)
(Revelation 21:4-8)
(2 Timothy 4:8)
C- our response:
1- trust God in all matters.

IV- ALWAYS HOLY (1 Peter 1:15)

A- God is holy.
1- Holy means to be separate from all sin.
a. Note the angelic testimony:
(Isaiah 6:3)
(Revelation 4:8)
B- God expects us to be holy (1 Peter 1:15 – 16)
1- this means forsaking sin as he shows it to us.
C- our response:
1- holiness
2- faithfulness

V- ABSOLUTELY RIGHTEOUS IN JUDGMENT (1 Peter 1:17)

A- God sees what we are, not who we are.
1- He looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7)

B- God judges deeds based on truth.
1- Both small and great will be judged the same. (Revelation 20:11 – 15)
C- our response:
1- forsake prejudice
2- be just in all of our dealings

VI- ABSOLUTELY UNCHANGING in STANDARDS (1 PETER 1:23 – 25)

A- God’s word is unchanging.
(Matthew 5:18)
(Malachi 3:6)
1- God’s word will always be the same standard.
B- God’s word will be what we are judged by.
(Revelation 20:11 – 15) (Romans 2:16)
1- all works will be tested. (1 Corinthians 3:13 – 15)
C- our response:
1- study his word
2- obey his word
