The true love a Mom.

Matthew 15:21–28 NKJV
21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” 23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” 24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” 26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” 27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” 28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
Intro: Mothers day. Happy Mothers day to all the moms out there. My wife. Miranda, Ashley, Angie, Alisha, Cindi.
My Mom. I do miss her, but she is with Jesus today. 1967 my mom was left with 3 boys to raise. She raised us to be tough, She was tough (she didn’t let people push her around). Story about her car breaking down.
1971 moved to Fl. Mom, brother and me. Loves us. Church. Sports. Work hard. (reel mower) Respect ladies. She was also a mom of great faith.
Today we will look at a mom, a woman of Cannon. Despite barriers, (Gentile) she shows great faith.

I. Her prayers. VS 21-22

Matthew 15:21–22 NKJV
21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”
As Jesus is a passing through a mom whose daughter is “Severely demon-possessed” cries out to Jesus. This may not be what we think of as prayer. But she is crying to to Jesus.
a. A mom will cry out to God over her children. When they hurt her. When they stray. When they hurt. When they are sick.
b. For this mom. Her daughter was demon possessed. She is a Gentile, she cries out to Jesus. “Son of David”
c. She begged for mercy. She calls Him Lord.
d. Mom’s will not stop praying for their children. Even when they are adults.
e. A mom’s pray is a powerful prayer.
A loving mom will continually.
A loving mom with belief.
3. A loving mom will pray sincerely.

II. Her faith.

Matthew 15:23 NKJV
23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”
1. Jesus doesn't answer her. She cried out to Jesus, Jesus is silent, not a word.
a.It seems the disciples interrupted Jesus silence with unconcern.
b. Look at what they have say. “Send her away”
Two things I see here. Testing of her faith. Showing the disciples her great faith.
c. Because of her love and her faith she doesn’t give up. Great faith never gives up. (Jesus didn’t send her away)
Matthew 15:24 NKJV
24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Speaking to His disciples.
a. The father sent Jesus to the earth on a mission-He commissioned Him to go to the lost sheep of Israel. But now He was in a Gentile country. He would not deny anyone His grace.
b. She has to hear what Jesus says, but her faith want let her stop. Her faith is shown by what is does next.
Matthew 15:25 NKJV
25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
This is a despite mom who loves her daughter. She worshiped Him. She fell on her face and cry’s out “Lord Help me” (Mark 7:26; she kept asking Him)
a. Pray without ceasing” Real faith, keeps calling our to Jesus. This is what a mom does. It may be adult child who is in a bad situation. Keep calling out to Jesus. Never give up.
b. Thankful my mom never stopped praying for me.
Matthew 15:26 NKJV
26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”
The Jews looked at themselves as God’s children, and spoke of the Gentiles as dogs, unclean. Gentiles in that day were accustomed to this, so this expression here was not as offensive as it would seem to us.
a. What Jesus said seems harsh, but He knew her heart. He knew what to say to her. This bring bring her faith out further. Also to show His disciples Her great faith.
b. Jesus knew her thoughts, He knew her faith. This was a loving faithful mom.
Matthew 15:27 NKJV
27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
Her answer shows faith and humility. Instead of being offened and walking away in disgust, she took the next step that caused Jesus to grant her hearts desire.
a. She’s putting self as a dog that just wants the left overs. Her love is was great, her faith was great, she is willing to humble herself to take care of her dauhtger.
b. There a so many moms that have done whatever it takes to care for their children.

III Her victory. VS 28

\
Matthew 15:28 NKJV
28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
“Great is your faith:”
God honors faith. It is impossible to please Him without faith.
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Romans 1:17 NKJV
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
“Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”
Mark 7:30 Tells us that when she came home, she found her daughter healed.
At first Jesus has no response when she cry’s out to Him, but through His grace and compassion, He give what she asked for.
a. We are not told her response to her daughter being healed. But I am sure it was joy.
b. A praying mom’s answered prayer.
Her Faith, Her prayer, Her victory.
c. Mom’s love to see the success of their children. But the greatest joy for a Christian mom is when their child ask Jesus to become their Lord.
