HOOK

Let’s include Rick Adriano & Sylvia Ducducan in our prayer
Yesterday we learned about a very important doctrine about “Eternal Security”— salvation is secured to those who are genuinely saved— we don’t work on our salvation because it is a gift from God— we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus
The good works we do are just an outcome of our salvation— they are the fruit of the Holy Spirit that “sanctifies” us
I AM ELECTED BY THE FATHER
I AM JUSTIFIED BY THE SON
I AM SANCTIFIED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
Let us resume with the pericope [short stories] about “Jesus the Bread of Life”
Open your Bible to John 6:40-48— once you get there, type Amen!

BOOK

John 6:40–48 NIV
40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” 41 At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.” 42 They said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, ‘I came down from heaven’?” 43 “Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus answered. 44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. 46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. 47 Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life.

LOOK

I WILL RAISE THEM UP AT THE LAST DAY
In this passage alone, the Lord said this twice— an emphasis of his reassurance of our eternal lives as believers
To better understand how is this gonna happen, I have to take you to the writings of Paul in 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18
HOW CAN HE NOW SAY, I CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN
Knowing the Lord’s parents, Joseph, Mary and their parents, brought them to disbelief— MATTHEW 13:55
As a preacher called by God— I can relate to this— when I started preaching the Word, people who knew me [my folks and may past] are in disbelief— I can’t blame them because they looked at me and not on the message I bring
Let’s see what the Lord said to them about their disbelief
NO ONE CAN COME TO ME UNLESS THE FATHER WHO SENT ME DRAWS THEM
Unless the Father draws them— remember ELECTION— it is the Father who elected believers and draws them to Jesus
IT IS WRITTEN IN THE PROPHETS THEY WILL BE TAUGHT BY GOD
Everyone who has heard the Father— how do you hear about the Father?— by reading the Bible
And learned from Him comes to me— how do you learn from the Father?— by reading he Bible
VERY TRULY I TELL YOU, THE ONE WHO BELIEVES HAS ETERNAL LIFE
When you hear the Lord says, “very truly I tell you”— that means it’s a very important matter— everything the Lord says are important, but when you hear Him say, “very truly I tell you”— it mean it is very important
That’s why the resurrection of Jesus is a very important part of our faith that we must believe as Christians because if Jesus have not resurrected from dead— our faith is useless
Paul said in 1 CORINTHIANS 15:14
