Salvation - Five Facts of Salvation Salvation - Five Facts of Salvation Tony Cansler / General While 80% of Americans say they are Christian, 45% call themselves «Born Again Christians» according to Barna Group, Ventura, California, USA That would represent that there is almost 120M people in the US that are Born again and I to be very honest with you have a hard time believing there is 120M Born Again living in the US According to a Consultant with NAMB the percent of Born Again Church members is 50%, According to a Barna survey on Protestant Churches 60% is Born Again (Crosswalk) This would represent there is around 90M Born Again in the US. I still have a hard time believing that. Many modern day church members who think they are saved are really only deceived. James Moffett said, "Within every congregation there is a small nucleus of people who believe, and they are surrounded by a much larger group who believe that they believe." It is reported that Billy Graham said on national television that 75-85% of church members are lost (We are unable to confirm that Graham said this or what the research was behind this). It is reported that Vance Havner said that over 65% of church members are lost. Shelton Jones is reported to have said that 80% of Baptist people are lost. R.A. Torrey said, "only about 10% of church members are saved." We don’t know how many people in the US are Born Again but I am confident in saying two things (1) There is many more unsaved people in the US than there is Saved people. (2) The US is becoming more lost with each passing day. Friend, I wish not to make anyone doubt their salvation, however I wish that all would affirm or confirm that they are in fact Born Again. Jesus told Nicodemus “Ye Must Be Born Again” He also Told Him unless he is Born Again he cannot see the kingdom of God Fact One -You have Sin that Consumes You Last Sunday night we spoke about sin, sin is something that we face daily and are tempted with and is something we don’t like admitting is in our life. It is imperative that is you are not born again before you move forward you admit to yourself and to the Lord that you are a sinner. For some of you it might be a difficult pill to swallow but it must be done. Not only do you have sin in your life like the rest of us, but that sin is destroying your life and you are dying in your sin. Shall we view death (in this text) from sin in three realms. 1. The First Realm is Spiritual Death. Gen 3 I Felt this was a good place to call out that there is sin that is killing America today literally. Drugs, Alcohol, Murder, Abortion, and there is others. 3. The Third Realm is Eternal Death. If we Physically Die while we are Spiritually Dead in our sin it will mean that we will be eternally separated from God. Even while you are a Sinner, Christ loves you Rom 5:8 . Everyone wants to be loved, it is a part of our humanity. You have people in your life that love you and care for you. Even if you think that you don’t, you do. The Lord Jesus Christ loves you, many of you were taught as a child “Jesus Loves me, this I know, for the bible tells me so” That has never changed, Yes, Jesus does love you. Jesus does not look at who you are, what you look like, what you have, or what you don’t have, nor does he look at what you have done (right or wrong) to determine if he is going to love you. That is conditional love, Jesus loves us unconditionally. Having someone in your life that loves you in spite of you faults and failures is something to be cherished. The devil will tell you that no one loves you but rest assured that the Lord Loves you! 1 John 4:19 KJV 1900 19 We love him, because he first loved us. Jesus took on death so we would not have to. Jesus didn't just die for those who would accept Him but He also died for those that would never accept Him. The muslims that hate Him, He died for them, for the atheist that refuse to admit He is God , He died for them. For the agnostic that aren’t sure if He is God or not, He dies for them. For the reprobate that loves their sin and will not turn from sin, He Died for You.
