Last week was a test to see if He is worthy of your praise
Last week we saw how selfish we can be with God
that we can be a Kyle being one sided in our relationship with God.
by putting more of our attention on God’s love and forgiveness to us
and not being thankful, loving God, or declaring the goodness of God
I have a special song
During this song I encourage the singers to record themselves singing along to this song and
share it with us by @ing @ccc_royals
those who are not singers just read outloud the words on the screen
thats what I do cause I suck at singing but this song declares the goodness of God!
so lets join in on declaring!
Play King of Kings by hillsong
Tonight is about my kingdom gone, His kingdom come
Not my will but His will be done.
Declaring Gods goodness in a corrupt world
Declaring God’s power in a weak world.
Declaring God’s beauty in an perverted world.
To get our eyes off ourselves and onto God
Tonight is about having a Kingdom Ambition
To live not just for God to love you, but for you to love God.
Lets pray
The entire Bible is about God setting up His kingdom.
It ends in Rev. with God’s perfect kingdom Established.
27 Then the kingdom and dominion, And the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, Shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And all dominions shall serve and obey Him.’
His kingdom is for Saints not sinners:
sin is not only has no part of His kingdom, sin is the opposite of what His kingdom is.
27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Who is written in Book of life?
1 Cor 6:9-11 says not the unrighteous
but those who have been washed, sanctified, and justified by Jesus and Spirit.
if you want to know more refer to yesterdays message
but this teaches us that the Bible is all about setting up the Kingdom of God and bringing His people into it ..sinless!
So its all about His kingdom!
this is why Jesus says:
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
because of this
I was wanting to list all that the Bible says about God’s Kingdom.....
but......
when I got to number 42 and realized that I am not close to getting it all I realized
there is no way I can go through all of this with you now.
Next few weeks I will spend learning about God Kingdom and His greatness.
but for now today is about being kingdom minded
having a kingdom ambition.
Since we were created for God’s kingdom… and His kingdom is coming....
purpose is found in seeking His kingdom first!
literally ever person in the Bible that did something great .. found purpose in seeking His kingdom
Noah did in Gen 6
Abraham did in Gen 12
Moses did in Ex 3
Joshua in Dt. 31, Josh 1
Samuel (1 Samuel 2)
David ( 1 Samuel 13:11)
Solomon (Pr 3:5)
Isaiah (Is 6)
Jeremiah (Jer 1)
Peter (Acts 2)
Paul (Acts 9:20)
You want purpose and meaning?
it starts about being about His kingdom.
not yours, not someone elses
they all lived out their purpose by seeking God’s kingdom first
Now as we saw Jesus was about bring us to the kingdom of God, so check out what He says as his very first teaching:
14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
So how can we seek first the kingdom of God?
well first is repent.
repentance a theological word for change.
other words used in the Bible is transform, sanctify, cleanse,
or the phrase put off and put on (Eph 4:22)
many say that they have repented
but what they mean is that they are sorry for their sins.
but you see repentance is turning form your kingdom to God’s kingdom
So if you repented
why do you remain anxious when God says be anxious for nothing
why do you gossip when God says don’t
why do you not have one disciple when Jesus said to make disciples
If you repented why is so much still about your kingdom
on IG you talk more about you, or whats going on with you then about the greatness of Jesus
you choose sleep, hanging out, or entertainment over His church
Jesus actually gives the answer why in a story in
40 And Jesus answered and said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” So he said, “Teacher, say it.” 41 “There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?” 43 Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have rightly judged.” 44 Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. 45 You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. 46 You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. 47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” 48 Then He said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” 49 And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” 50 Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
So why do you not repent and fully live for His kingdom?
because to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little
The nearer a man gets to God the greater he sees his sin
the worst you see your sin the more you are thankful when its forgiven.
I grew up in the church,
I said I repented, and asked Jesus into my heart many times
but no great change ever took place in my life.
you often hear testimonies of these people who did these major sins
then once they gave their life to God they started to do great things for God
well all sin is death to God (Romans 6:23)
and until you see the death of sin in your life the least important Jesus will be, the least important change will be, and the least important His kingdom will be.
You say … all you need to do is believe and you are fine.... well
even demons believe and they tremble. (James 2:19)
meanwhile you believe and continue to sin?
I hope that the demons are not a better Christian than you.
So have you come to terms with your sin?
Have you decided whose kingdom you will live for?
Maybe this will help:
play thats my king video
Is He worthy of your praise?
How thankful are you for Him?
If God is worth anything, which He is worth everything
then he worth any praise and every praise.
Want to know what His kingdom is like?
Ever thought when i die what will my first moments in God’s kingdom be like?
Ps 100 talk about that.
before I show you that…
know that Jesus calls Himself the gate into God’s kingdom:
9 Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.
knowing this now you will see what Heaven is like:
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.
