Drowning- Anchored in Hope week one
25 Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up.
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression,
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2
Jesus wants to deliver you from the demise of drift. He wants to be the anchor for your soul.
4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
