Rebuilding Church
Rebuilding Church
A. As we look to re-launch weekend - reminded of the book of Nehemiah
read this when we launched Grace Sugarcreek
good to refresh ourselves of this book because we are re-launching church we are rebuilding how we do church and we can look to this account in scripture as we are relaunching/rebuilding
One of first things when wall finished - commit themselves to reading scripture
Chapter 8:6-8
English Standard Version Chapter 8
And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God, and all the people answered, “Amen, Amen,” lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.
English Standard Version Chapter 8
They read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly, and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading.
Pray -
We would be reminded as we come together to worship God through scripture, the word of God is alive and active, sharper than any two edged sword
Word of God would hold a special place in our hearts as we begin to gather again
2. Once wall was rebuilt - confessed their sins
Chapter 9
Looking back at all God has done, how many times have we doubted his faithfulness?
Pray -
Maybe you’ve doubted his faithfulness and goodness, you’ve doubted that he wants what is best for you through this time.
3. Dedication of the wall - they celebrated and worshipped
Chapter 12:27
English Standard Version Chapter 12
And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings and with singing, with cymbals, harps, and lyres.
Worshipped God with gladness, thanksgiving, singing, cymbals, harps and lyres. They had 2 big choirs, read scripture again
Looking forward to our services this weekend, see the value in worshipping together as the Body of Christ again
Pray -
Our weekend services would be filled with an atmosphere of thanksgiving, of celebration for where you have brought us, where you are taking us, and how you’ve brought us to a place where we can re-launch as Grace Church
