intro

We are in the midst of a humanitarian crisis.
Let us be very clear - Covid19 is no longer to be feared - the goverment has weponised fear agaiant the people of SA.
They have taken away our rights, they have put us under house arrest, they have made it illigal to work, they have dictated to us what we can or cannot buy and they have closed every church in the country.
in a land built on principlals of freedom paid for by the lives of anti struggle martyers a struggle that last decades, all that was erased in a single day by dracionian laws by puppets in the pure evil UN.
Suddenly tax paying, law abiding citazins were arrested and beated by both the police and professional solders from our miliraty.
Relief funds have been channaled into political own buisness and food us daily being discovred stockpiled in govermentemplyees houses.
2 million people are set to loose their jobs, how many ANC officials have lost their jobs? Zero.
I am not a political pastor, but when evil arises we must call it out.
Here at UFGC we have so far helped over 100 families with food and clothing and the number is going up by the day.
What do we do when faced with such evil? What hope do we have?
This is what i want to encourage you with today.
Because so long as God is there is hope, so long as the Word remains there is hope. So long as Jesus lives there is hope and there is hope today.

A Ravaged Land

The people of Israel were in the same position. Their lives were left in utter ruin. But God never abandond his people.
Joel 2:18–20 ESV
18 Then the Lord became jealous for his land and had pity on his people. 19 The Lord answered and said to his people, “Behold, I am sending to you grain, wine, and oil, and you will be satisfied; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations. 20 “I will remove the northerner far from you, and drive him into a parched and desolate land, his vanguard into the eastern sea, and his rear guard into the western sea; the stench and foul smell of him will rise, for he has done great things.
As we have been invaded by evil communist agendas, so Israel was invaded aswell. We have a plauge of fear, they faced a plauge of locusts.
As we have had everything taken away from us, so these locusts devoured and destroyed all of Israels crops and harvest.
With no food, no provision, no hope, the people faced death and starvation.
But god says:
Joel 2:21–23 ESV
21 “Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice, for the Lord has done great things! 22 Fear not, you beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness are green; the tree bears its fruit; the fig tree and vine give their full yield. 23 “Be glad, O children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given the early rain for your vindication; he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before.
Let me explain a bit about farming:
For their to be succseful harvest, Israel need 2 sets of rain.
Am early or former rain - this rain was neccesary for the seeds to germinate and begin to shoot. Without the eraly rain, they woul not grow.
And then they needed the late or latter rain - this rain was vital because it caused the crop to produce the frut or the grain head. Without it there would be no harvest.
Now what had happened is that the people had son their seeds and the early rain had come, the seeds has germinated and the crp was growing. But before the latter rain came, a terrible plauge of locaus came and devoured all the saplings or small shoots.
There was no way to recover from this. There was no more crop left to produce frut and even if they somehow managed to replnt, the latter rain would only germinate the seeds, there would be no rain to riped the harvest.
Everything they worked for, all their hard work from the pervuous yeats was gone.
Buisness are closing, hard work and sacrifice from years of labour are being devoured by the tirrany of this lockdown.
But look what God says to his people:
Joel 2:23 ESV
23 “Be glad, O children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given the early rain for your vindication; he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before.
God says that he will provide a miricle outpouring of rain, he will resend the former and latter rain. he will provide a means of recovery.
Look:
Joel 2:25 ESV
25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.
Joel 2:26–27 ESV
26 “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame. 27 You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God and there is none else. And my people shall never again be put to shame.
My friends we need to take God at his word and keep the Faith!
God will restore to us what evil has taken. He will provide for us what Satan has stolen. He will vindcate us from this oppresive agenda which makes criminals out of law abiding people.
And we will rejoice in our God. We will glorify His name. we will sing his praises and we will dance in victory.
We will be satisfied and give glory to God!!!
BUT
Oh yes, there is a but - this promise of restoration is not without a cause.
This is what is called a conditional blessling.
A blessing that comes when we meet the condition. So what is the condition?????
Look:
Joel 2:12–17 ESV
12 “Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; 13 and rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster. 14 Who knows whether he will not turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, a grain offering and a drink offering for the Lord your God? 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion; consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly; 16 gather the people. Consecrate the congregation; assemble the elders; gather the children, even nursing infants. Let the bridegroom leave his room, and the bride her chamber. 17 Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, “Spare your people, O Lord, and make not your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ ”
Lets make sure we no mot miss a thing:

1: Return to God with all your hearts.

It is time to repent. To repent of all the disobedience and sinfulness that harbours in your heart. Both sins of comision and of omission.
Fornication, drunkedness, pride, lusting, coveting, all need to come to an end in Jesus name!
And The bible says:
James 4:17 ESV
17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
prayer, bible study, tithes all need to come back in Jesus Name!!!

2: Call a fast

Joel 2:15 ESV
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion; consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly;
Fasting serves to devote yourself to God in prayer and the reading of God’s Word.
Jesus fased 40 days and day and nights in preperation of His ministry and we must call a fast in preperation of Godf’s outpouring.
I am calling a fast not just for UFGC but to all who seek Gods restoration.
On Thurday the 21 Mat 2020 we will be fasting for 24 hours. From midnight till midnight.
Linked in the comment section will be examples of the kinds of fasts and the details you can follow - choose one.
We will also, be devoted to prayer and the Word.
in those 24 hours we will all read all 4 gospels, start to finish, not a verse is to be missed.
We will read of God provision, his faithful;ness, his miracles, his love, his sacrifice, his defeat of death and his promised return.
If you cannot read all 4, then you will read the whiole of John’s gospel.
And we will pray.
I will stream a prayer meeting at 12 pm, exacally half way in the fast right here on facebook.

3: The Shepherds will Interceed for the People

I will not leave this building. I will interceed for the church and for you and for all south fricans right here. I ask any pastors, both lay and full timr as well as elders to join me in intercession.
Ephesians 6:18 ESV
18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

Conclusion:

Are you ready to reach out to God in faith today?
The woman with the issue of blood found restoration because he reached out to Jesus.
God is faithful and true, He is loving and Kind. he loves you with an every lasting love,.
Restore us oh God in Jesus Name, throw off the bonds and shackles that have been placed on us.
Psalm 121:1–2 ESV
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? 2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
