Have you ever come up to a point in your life where you realized you NEEDED to change - but then you didn’t know how OR didn’t know where you begin?
Have you ever been around a friend asking you for help to change, but you didn’t have any way to help them get started?
Today is your day!
Believe it or not:
No matter how AWESOME & GLORIOUS you are, God still wants you to change.
2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The Law of Seedtime & Harvest:

Genesis 8:22 NKJV
22 “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.”
Galatians 6:7–8 HCSB
7 Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap, 8 because the one who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
What we are reaping in our life right now is the result of what we have sown in the past.
It could have been 3 months ago, it could be 6 months ago, or maybe even 7 years ago!
But...
We are participating in the law of sowing and reaping and we are harvesting from the seeds we have sown.
Parents: If you are POSITIVE YOU didn’t sow the seeds that are producing a harvest in your child(ren)s life that you don’t like, you may have to find the source of that rogue seed (movies, music, friends, social media, netflix, books, etc.) & eliminate it.

There Are Different Kinds of Seeds:

Genesis 1:11 NKJV
11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.
Grass springs up quickly
Herbs grow more slowly
Fruit trees often take 7 years to begin to fruit
Know what you are sowing, because THAT is what you will reap.
Many people sow grass seed because it’s quick (e.g. -New Year’s Resolutions & Decisions after a hard night of partying and feeling bad the next morning)
Matthew 6:30 NKJV
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Grass Seed decisions don’t last!
Many people want perpetual fruit, but lack the patience and stubborness to truly invest in real, lasting change
John 15:16 NKJV
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
Lasting change rarely happens as quickly as grass grows -
If you’re anything like me (& you are), you go to the gym 1x or change your routine 1x and wonder why you aren’t RIPPED yet!
It takes careful purposeful planting & cultivation to have good fruit

How to Change Your Harvest:

Assuming you don’t like something you are harvesting:
poor health
Stress
Broken Relationships
Addiction
Pride
Selfishness
Financial Lack

Take these 3 steps:

1. Kill the old harvest

Jeremiah 1:10 NKJV
10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”
Matthew 3:10 NKJV
10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
It’s time to “Hulk Smash” some things and start swinging the axe!
If we love it (or like it), it’s going to be difficult to destroy!
We should pray: “God, help me to hate the things that keep me from my destiny!”

2. Stop the Source of the Sinister Seed

Even if we clear the land, but we allow the seed with the bad harvest to be sown, we WILL reap that harvest eventually.
If you really like hanging out with certain people (tv programs, music selections), but they sow bad seed into your life:
fear
sassiness to your parents
sexual desires outside of God’s beautiful plan
debt
anger
an “entitled” bum-like lifestyle
CUT THEM OFF!

3. Sow the Seed You want Harvest From

We are about to replant our yard with grass & I’ve been doing hours of research on the type of grass that we want for the conditions we have. If I’m going to do THAT much research for my yard,
How much should I give consideration to the ground of my life?
Discipline Seed = Peaceful Fruit of Righteousness (Heb. 12:11)
Winning Souls & The Fear of the Lord Seed = Wisdom (Prov. 11:30)
Humility Seed = More Grace (James 4:6)
Perfect Love Seed = Fearlessness (1 John 4:18)
Generosity Seed = Financial Security (Malachi 3:10,11)
Knowing God Seed = Strength & Great Exploits (Daniel 11:32)
Joy Seed = Strength (Neh 8:10)
When you see a fruit you like:
-Search the Seed Bank (The Word of God) to find out how to get that Harvest
-Find those who can sow those seeds into your field & let them.

Just One Thing:

Your harvest is completely under your control! Sow wisely & sow differently!

Discussion Questions:

What’s the most interesting documentary you’ve ever watched?
If you are bold enough: Please identify one fruit in your life that you DON’T Like and Identify where that seed came from. Do the same with one fruit you LOVE.
Please read Galatians 6:7-8 and share what this passage of scripture means to you & how it’s truth has affected your life.
Please share at least 1 fruit that you would like to harvest (that you currently don’t have or have very little of) and how you plan to sow seeds to increase your harvest in that area.
