It Was An Inside Job!
It Was An Inside Job!
12 This isn’t the neighborhood bully mocking me—I could take that. This isn’t a foreign devil spitting invective—I could tune that out.
13 It’s you! We grew up together! You! My best friend!
14 Those long hours of leisure as we walked arm in arm, God a third party to our conversation.
15 Haul my betrayers off alive to hell—let them experience the horror, let them feel every desolate detail of a damned life.
16 I call to God; God will help me.
17 At dusk, dawn, and noon I sigh deep sighs—he hears, he rescues.
18 My life is well and whole, secure in the middle of danger Even while thousands are lined up against me.
19 God hears it all, and from his judge’s bench puts them in their place. But, set in their ways, they won’t change; they pay him no mind.
20 And this, my best friend, betrayed his best friends; his life betrayed his word.
21 All my life I’ve been charmed by his speech, never dreaming he’d turn on me. His words, which were music to my ears, turned to daggers in my heart.
22 Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders— he’ll carry your load, he’ll help you out. He’ll never let good people topple into ruin.
23 But you, God, will throw the others into a muddy bog, Cut the lifespan of assassins and traitors in half. And I trust in you.
Depend on God; Let God Handle Your Enemy(s)Verses 16-19 David is speaking directly about his dependency on God.
Verses 17-18 show David’s confidence in the Lord: “I utter my complaint and moan, and he will hear my voice. He will redeem me unharmed from the battle that I wage.
Prayer is not only a petition to God but also a way to shape and strengthen our faith. Talking with God relieves our souls of all burdens and find rest, because we know that God is listening and will respond for us.
The character of the betrayer is found in verses (20-21) This companion of David’s has violated a covenant of friendship that exists between two people.
It is imperative that we realize the damage that the tongue can cause. Remember the words of James
6 And the tongue is a fire! It can be compared to the sum total of wickedness and is the most dangerous part of our human body. It corrupts the entire body and is a hellish flame! It releases a fire that can burn throughout the course of human existence.
Verses 22-23 Is where we see King David Putting his confidence in God
It is demoralizing and depressing to have a member of your own family turn on you and bring every weapon they can against you.
But, God will sustain you. God will get you through the battle and every unrighteous act. Remember if you have done nothing wrong righteousness will always prove you right.
1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,
5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
99% of the time we don’t want to forgive, especially when we weren’t the offender!
Eventually the truth will come and your Faith and Integrity Proven by God, and You’ll be made stronger for going through the terrible situation.
Remember We Are All Offenders!
23 for we all have sinned and are in need of the glory of God.
Learn From your Mistakes!
23 Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.
24 Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.
Watch where you’re going!
25 Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions.
Do You Want Revenge?
The best way to get revenge is to let the person that hurt you see you living your best life.
Look honestly to see if you contributed to what happened.
7 Angry, they kept insisting that he answer their question, so Jesus stood up and looked at them and said, “Let’s have the man who has never had a sinful desire throw the first stone at her.”
Forgive yourself for any gullible places, which you allowed yourself to be placed in.
13 I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.
14 I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.
