Last week we saw how the Bible is about bringing the Kingdom of God

and getting us ready for its perfection by perfecting us by the death & res. of Jesus

sadly many people are focused on creating God’s kingdom on earth

like the disciples

we naturally want that

that is why you see people trying to make America like God’s kingdom..

some people are more focused on building up their own kingdom

The Bible says that we are created for something bigger then us and bigger than the nation we want to live in

we are created for living in God’s presence,

we are created for fellowship with God,

our home is not on earth but is in heaven

our hearts desire something that earth cant give us..

the fact that our heart yearns for something Earth can’t supply is proof that His Kingdom is our home

so better for us to prepare for His Kingdom

than to make ourselves comfortable in a kingdom that will never last.

today and in the next couple week it will be about preparing ourselves for His kingdom!

because when His kingdom comes

may our eyes already be fixed on it

may our minds already thinking about it

may our mouths be preaching it

may our eyes be looking for it

may our lives already be living in it

HE IS KING

Before He created the heavens and the earth, HE was.

When the earth and everything in it passes away, HE will be.

He holds the universe together from the smallest atom to the greatest galaxy. It all is in His hands.

The sun is hidden in His shadow.

He has set the earth on it's foundations.

And He rests His feet upon it.

He stir the waters of the oceans with my fingers.

And shapes the mountains with His breath.

He is entirely Holy.

There are none before Him and none like Him.

Who can question what He has done, or what He will do.

His kingdom is eternal and shall exist forevermore.

He is the Ruler over the kings of the earth.

He is the Prince of Peace.

He is the I AM

the King of Kings.

The Righteous King.

The King of the Jews.

The King of Glory.

The King of the Ages.

The King of Heaven.

He is the I AM

the LORD OF LORDS.

He is the the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

He is the Jehovah-Jireh I will provide.

He is the Jehovah-Rapha I will heal.

He is the Jehovah-Mekadesh I will sanctify.

He is the Jehovah-Rohi - physician

He is your Shepherd.

He is the the Most High God.

He is the your Deliverer,

He is your Redeemer

He is your Savior.

He is your Shield and your Strength and your Defender.

He is the The Eternal and Everlasting God.

He is the the Alpha and the Omega.

He is the The beginning and the end.

Before Him there was no god formed.

Neither shall there be after Him.

He is the LORD and besides Him there's no savior.

Beside Him there's no god.

Angels and heavenly beings worship Him upon His throne.

He will not give His glory unto another.

He will not share Hiis creation.

He is a jealous God. And a consuming fire.

He is the Commander of the Heavens Armies.

And before Him kingdoms crumble and rulers kneel.

He is your harbor in the tempest.

He is safety for the tested and tried.

He has come to set the captives free.

To strengthen the weak, to heal the lame.

To cause the blind to see.

He has come to give you life and gives breath to breeeathe.

He has come that you might know Him.

He has come that you might know my limitless love and endless goodness.

He has come that you might know His measureless mercy and never ending grace.

His forgiveness knows no boundaries

and His acceptance sees no imperfections.

Nor color, nor race, nor wealth, nor poverty.

In Him your are made clean and through Him you are sanctified.

He is indescribable, incomprehensible, irresistible and invincible.

The heavens cannot contain His glory.

Death cannot consume Him.

Life cannot outlast Him.

All knees will bow before Him

and at His Name every tongue will confess.

Every tongue will confess that He is the Great I AM.

Every tongue will confess that He is the GOD of gods.

Because of all this:

He is king and and His Kingdom will reign

He is no peasant, or merchant, or town fool!

He is King the Lord almighty High and lifted up!

Now if I never got sick, i wouldn't know God was healer

if I never got attacked, I wouldn't know God was a defender

if i never got afraid I would wouldn’t know God was a protector

If I never messed up, I would never know God as a forgiver

if i never failed, I would never know God as a teacher

Id i never got uncomfortable, I would never know God was a comforter

Our situations whether sin, trials, or failures,

often lead us us to an understanding of who God is.

I cant think of a greater understatement

than that God is better to us then we are to Him.

but lets talk about:

TREATING HIM AS A KING.

I wonder if Jesus ever looked at his disciples

when they were doubting and going astray,

and just smiled and thought to himself

“they have no idea what they are about to do for my kingdom”

And then I wonder if Jesus looks at you in moments of sin, weakness,

smiles and thinks to Himself “she has no idea what she is about to do for my kingdom”

what a great thought…

but

I have given God a million reasons not to love Me.. but none changed His mind.

instead He not only gives us a place in His Kingdom but He also gives us a purpose in it!.

and i am like i don’t deserve a place in the kingdom …

why would God want to use me and give me a purpose in His Kingdom

well I think

We confuse our unworthiness with His worthiness.

but imagine a slave being purchased out of slavery by the president of another nation. and the president tells the slave come to my country and live free. so the slave accepts but instead of praising and thanking the president & living free, the slave continued to live and eat as a slave.

the right thing would have been for the slave to live free and to give thanks and praise to the one who had set him free.

Jesus has set us free from our sin…

we need to get our eyes off who we were and onto who He is.

we need to not discount what God paid in full for

A few bad chapters doesn't mean your story is over.

The author of the universe wants to write your story if you would let him write it

And the antagonist (satan) of your story is vicious but he is not victorious

he will discourage but God will remain faithful

he will temp but God will save

he will cause doubt but God will cause peace

your past does not disqualify you, your past prepares you

As long as you have a pulse God still has a plan.

& in the end God wins

it is a promise

If only you believed the things God believes about you.

He sees your value in His kingdom!

Remember you were worth dieing for. so he can bring you there.

accepting Jesus is no accident, or something you fell into

John 15:16 NKJV

16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

so God’s love isnt based on me it is placed on me.

He is sooo good to us!

He is worthy of our praise.

we need to get our eyes off of us

I remember someone in Bible college rebuked all of us during chapel.

worship had ended and he stood up and He said

“when i walked into the sanctuary right now during the last song I couldnt hel but notice many of you reading your Bibles, writing in your journals.... some of you were just sitting their watching the band.... how dare you! Jesus is worthy of your praise no matter how you feel”

that stuck with me....

it doesnt matter what I have done, It doesnt matter what I think , it doesnt matter how I feel Jesus is worthy to be praised...

in fact if you think about it Praise is the only thing you can give to God.

& Praise is the only thing that has nothing to do with us

it is the only gift you can give God

after all God has done for us

the one thing we can do for Him

we wont do because we dont feel like or concerned of what someone may thing

because you think because people will judge you and think your weird

I don’t care what you think about me

you weren't their when I was depressed without hope and couldn't get out by myself

i tried a thousand times to feel better, but the grace of God stretched on the cross

and He did something for me that changed me for the rest of my life

so when I dont feel like it I worship God with everything I have becasue it is the only thing that I can give to Him

and many of us reserve it because we don’t feel like it

do you think He felt like going to the cross

To fail to praise is not to break some church or Bible rule it is failure to treat God as God.

It is time to move from God just being useful for you

to God is beautiful to you

From craving Him to love us to be craving to love Him

from looking for His affirmation to affirming Him

from listening for His proof of love to proving your love for Him

Lust says what can you do for me

Love says what can I do for you.

is the King your lust or is He your love?

If He is your love,

dont be ashamed of Him,

dont hold back,

Is He worth proving your love for?

What joy there is that our greatest purpose is found in our greatest praise of God.

you want purpose?

you want to do something great

you want to impact lives?

then

How great will you praise God?
