God is on Our Side

Before you read this scripture take time to prepare to hear from God:
Put yourself in a quiet place.
Be still.
Confess anything separating you from His presence.
Ask Him to join you there.
Psalm 124 ESV
A Song of Ascents. Of David. 1 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side— let Israel now say— 2 if it had not been the Lord who was on our side when people rose up against us, 3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; 4 then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; 5 then over us would have gone the raging waters. 6 Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth! 7 We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped! 8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
The Lord is our rescue! Today is a good day to remember no matter how mighty we think we are or how financially secure we consider ourselves, He is our rescue!
In the past 2 months a lot of the world has been reminded “many are the plans of a man, but the Lord’s purpose prevails”. It should instill great confidence to know the Lord is on our side.
Have there been moments recently where you felt like the flood would sweep you away? Like the enemy mounted attack after attack on you or yours? Remember your rescue! Stand firm on the word of God and it’s truth!
Several days ago we read in Isaiah 43 that though we walk through the fire or flood, God would walk with us there. He said neither would overwhelm us because of His presence. His promise to never leave nor forsake us is as true and trustworthy now as it was the moment He spoke it.
As you close your time here today make a list. Write down five blessings which are real and pertinent to you currently. If one of those is person, be sure and let them know they made the list!
