Jehovah-Jireh
The phrase is greek for “the Lord will provide”
We have to ask the question of ourselves; “Do we believe that He will provide?”
There are actions that happen to us when we are going through life that may seam like God does not care for us and what we are going through.
This is when we need to step back and assess what is going on.
Is He trying to get our attention or are we just missing it?
14 Abraham called the name of that place The Lord Will Provide, as it is said to this day, “In the mount of the Lord it will be provided.”
This is the story of Abraham taking his only son up on the mountain to sacrifice him at the direction of the God.
This is Isaac we are talking about here.
He was the promised son to Abraham and Sarah late in their life.
He was the miracle that came from God.
How could God ask Abraham to do this to the very thing that God gave him?
We can look at this as a way of testing our faith in God and our faith that we do believe that He will provide what we need when we need it.
God Will Test Your Faith
God Will Test Your Faith
6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now, if for a little while, you have had to suffer various trials,
7 in order that the genuineness of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tried by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
God sometimes tests your faith in Him.
Do you really mean it when you say that you believe in Him and trust in Him.
We have all been tested through these last 2 months.
Do you really believe that I, God, will take care of you.
We can sit around and start thinking about why has God done this to me, but put yourself in Abraham’s shoes.
Would you even have considered taking your son up to a mountain to sacrifice him?
No, we wouldn’t!
But Abraham trusted that God will provide the sacrifice!
God will allow us to be tested to strengthen our faith in Him!
He Will Provide What You Need
He Will Provide What You Need
1 God is our refuge and strength, a well-proven help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
No matter what happens around us, we can be assured that God will keep us and protect us.
BUT!
Even if we are taken from this earth, we will be with Him in heaven for eternity, Amen!
God will provide what we need to accomplish His will and His plan.
Do not get caught up with those that are negative around you.
The “Oh whoa is me” people that couldn’t find something to be happy about if it hit them right smack dab in the face.
We can put our faith and trust in Him who will supply all our needs according to His riches in Gory!
Give the Lord praise for that tonight.
Something May Have To Die
Something May Have To Die
25 Now it was the third hour, and they crucified Him.
Something may have to die to fulfill God’s plan.
The dream that you had for your life may have to be killed in order for God’s plan for your life to come to pass.
When the plan that WE have becomes more important than GOD’s plan, then we are in dangerous territory.
Sometimes your dream must die!
This must happen for you to redirect your energy on what God has in store for you.
What we don’t realize is that what God has planned for us is far greater than our plan.
Jesus had to die in order for the fulfilling of prophecy to take place.
He had to die for you and me to have the opportunity to have the relationship with Him that we can have.
What has to die tonight so that God can use you.
Your ideas?
Your plans?
Your desires?
What is it that is consuming your life and distracting you from God?
There Is A Reward
There Is A Reward
10 But after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory through Christ Jesus, will restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.
Even though you may have to suffer for a little while, there is coming a day when Christ will come down and restore us.
He will strengthen us!
He will establish us to be His forever!
What a day that will be when my Jesus I will see.
The look upon His face.
The one who saved me by His grace.
He will take me by the hand and show me through the promised land.
What a day glorious day that will be!
I can’t wait!
Don’t let the troubles of this world keep you from seeing Jesus for who He is.
He will minister to you when this is over.
The troubles, as bad as they may seem to be, are not near as bad as Heaven is good!
Hold on to that and worship the Lord for what He has done for you!
We Find Meaning In Surrender
We Find Meaning In Surrender
37 “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38 And He who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
What has taken the place of God in your life.
True surrender reveals to us true meaning in what Christ is trying to do with us.
Are you willing to do whatever is required by God?
Are you willing to put aside those things that are precious to you to follow Christ?
This scripture puts it out there.
If you think that your family is more important than God, He said that you are not worthy of Him!
Think about that!
34 When He had called the people to Him, with His disciples, He said to them, “If any man would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.
We are required to suffer for the cause of Christ!
The cross is the symbol of suffering!
If Jesus said to deny myself and take up suffering and follow Him.
Why do we always complain when we get exactly what we are supposed to get when we follow Christ.
Suffering!
It has been preached over and over throughout history that if you receive Christ as your personal savior that all your troubles will go away…they will just begin.
Why!!!
Because the enemy will be out to get you and will seek to destroy you with everything that he has!
This following Christ thing is not a bed of roses!
But the suffering that we endure is not near as bad as the reward is good that awaits those who persevere.

11 Indeed we count them happy who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the purpose of the Lord, that the Lord is very gracious and merciful.
The patience that is speaks of here is not that of sitting by waiting for something to happen.
This is an active waiting, work-while-you-wait lifestyle.
We are to be about the father’s business telling others about Christ and what He can do for them.
We will understand that the testing of our faith brings about the understanding of His love for us with a gracious and merciful love.
The type of love that most do not understand.
He loves us so much that He will allow us to go through the suffering knowing that it will bring about a strength that otherwise we would not have.
God wants you to trust in Him.
God wants you to rely on Him.
God wants you to follow His plan and listen.
Are you struggling to trust God tonight?
Are you in need of a touch from the Lord tonight?
Do you know who Christ is?
