Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Μακάριοι οἱ πτωχοὶ τῷ πνεύματι, ὅτι αὐτῶν ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν
10-12 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' (G1343) sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward (G3408) in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Mat 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. G1343 Then he suffered him.
Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: G1343 for they shall be filled.
Mat 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: G1343 for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; G1343 and all these things shall be added unto you.
2 John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. (G3408) pay for service
I want to know why, from someone who says the Law is for the old covenant, why Yeshua, Paul, Peter, John and James keep making reference to, and mandating requirements to obey the Law as a sign and result of your salvation?
Luke 23:32-33 and 23:50-53 fulfill Isaiah 53:9,
2 Timothy 4:8
(WARNING) The argument that is promoted, without any scriptural support by the way, is that during Yeshua’s earthly ministry, he is still under the Old Covenant while he’s teaching and preaching. The reason this argument is slick & believable is because every time Yeshua mentions that his followers must obey the Law, they make the claim that, “those teachings are under the Old Covenant and are not necessary to be obeyed!” Listen to what Yeshua taught, under what is called the sold Covenant!
Yeshua - Matthew 4:4, John 14:15, Deuteronomy 8:3
Matthew 4:17 Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand
Luke 13:10-17 And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.
Luke 10:25-28 And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
THIS IS PAUL’s FOUNDATION AND STARTING POINT REGARDING THE LAW & COMMANDMENTS
Romans 7:12 Wherefore the law G3551 is holy, and the commandment (G1785) holy, and just, and good.
Paul - Romans 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, G3551 That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
Leviticus 18:5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in (H2425בָּהֶ֑ם) them: I am the LORD.
Peter - 2 Peter 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment G1785) of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
John - 1 John 2:3-4 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. G1785 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, G1785 is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
To long for Christ’s “appearing” is not a demand for constant discussions of eschatology, Prophecy, annual choir & Ushers’ days, musicals, and attending church functions every time the church doors are open, but a requirement that believers would perform the life-style that is described and outlined in the Law & Commandments as a sign of biblical righteousness!
Titus 2:11-15
1 Corinthians 9:25 (crown ἄφθαρτον στέφανον G4735 the eternal blessedness which will be given as a prize to the genuine servants of God and Christ)
2 Timothy 2:5
Psalm 58:11
Psalm 2:2
1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached G2784 to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection G386 of Jesus Christ from the dead,
