You Shall Be Blessed

As you prepare to hear from God:
Confess God is right
Admit you agree with Him
Ask for understanding of what you read in His Word
Psalm 128 ESV
A Song of Ascents. 1 Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! 2 You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you. 3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. 4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord. 5 The Lord bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life! 6 May you see your children’s children! Peace be upon Israel!
Fear is a powerful emotion. It is a response to a stimulus either known or unknown. But it is also a choice. There are things in your life you were afraid of when you were young or ignorant (or both) that you no longer fear. The more you knew or the more familiar you became, the less fearful response you had.
But the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. AND He wants us to enter the throne of grace with boldness as children confident in their father’s love for them. This is actually a great place for the believer to be. Holding such respect and admiration for God we can’t wait to come into His presence.
We will soon be gathering together to worship. Today you are worshipping in your quiet place. Both are designed to be in the presence of the One Who Blesses.
One of my greatest blessings in this life is you. FBC Elkhart is a blessing from God to my family! You have been invited to do a drive-through prayer at some point before we regather. Praying for this place and these people reminds us of the blessing of God in our lives. And what a blessing it will be to worship with you June 7th!
