vs. 47: Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

In using the term Worship, I am using it inclusively — meaning praise, thanksgiving, adoration, and so forth . . .

A Holy Ghost Filled Church is a Worshiping Church

Acts 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

- Wonderful - megaleios (magnificent)

Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

John 4:23

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

The Church of the Living God should be a church centered around worship.

We were created to worship Him.

He placed in us a desire to worship.

Before the beginning of time Lucifer was appointed to overshadow God’s throne with praise and worship. His very body was an instrument of praise and worship.

Therefore, nothing that we do has more of a past than worship.

Revelation 4:7-8

7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Revelation 5:11-14

11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth forever and ever.

- In the time to come when we are in heaven we will worship. God will be worshiped.

- Therefore, there is nothing that we can do or practice that has more of a future than worship.

- We devote our attention, time and effort to perfecting talents, here on earth, that we do not really need to know. They have their place in our lives but how much time do we devote to perfecting our worship.

We need to perfect our worship.

A worshipping church is a powerful church.

Worship not only exalts God but it draws Him near. When He comes near great things always happen.

People will be…

· Delivered

· Healed

· Filled with His Spirit

The gates of hell will be shaken

The world will begin to see His Glory and since His Presence

3 Keys to Powerful Worship:

1. Relationship (spirit)

Truly powerful worship is plugged into prayer.

Prayer is communication. Communication builds relationship. When our worship is conceived in relationship it will touch heaven and shake our world.

2. Knowledge (truth)

John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

The Bible says “let everything that hath breath praise ye the Lord”

He loves praise…but He longs for worship. He seeks worship.

He longs for true worship; worship from those who really know who he is. Those who know that He is one and His name is Jesus.

3. Obedience (truth)

God desires obedience and submission more than sacrifice. Worship from a heart of submission and obedience to God’s Word will shake the very gates of Hell.

If we as a congregation would worship Him in Relationship, Knowledge and Obedience (spirit and truth) We would see God’s glory and anointing like never before.

True Worship will…

· Cleanse

· Uplift

· Restore

· Deliver

· Heal

· Save

All because He dwells in the midst of those who worship Him.

Discuss the Ethiopians where it is estimated that over 40K people were filled with the HG.

Let us worship Him:

Ps 29:2

2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

When worshipping God: glorify His name, Jesus;

Tell Jesus how great He is

Praise Him in His presence…the sanctuary. Praise Him when His glory comes down!

Ps 66:4

4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

Much of the world has written songs unto God. The Bible calls for us to sing unto His name.

Praise/Worship Him for what He has done

Ps 86:9-10

9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

Praise Him for the great things: jobs, pay increases, new car, blessing to your life, or saved family member. Come into His house with thanksgiving instead of your laundry list of needs and watch what happens.

Praise Him for who He is!

Ps 95:3-7

3 For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Translation - “He is a great king and all other Gods are weak”

4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.

He is the sovereign God over all creation

5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

When was the last time you fell flat on your face and simply worshiped God for His goodness

7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand…

God is our shepherd just as the Israelites were His sheep. He guides us through under-shepherds called pastors.

Ps 99:5

5 Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.

Who could keep a miracle quiet?

Acts 3:8-9 - The man healed at the gate called Beautiful

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

Acts 1:8

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth

Adversity cannot stop a Worshiper

Your worship is your weapon against the enemy!

To many time we have Spiritual pacifist in the Church

Regardless of reason worship because we’re in a war for souls

Your worship is your witness!

Acts 16:25-26

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

Worship breaks bondage

How can you expect a new convert to worship when the seasoned saints of the church sit on the pews like bumps on a log. If God gave you legs to stand and hands raise do so.

If he gave you the energy to jump, do so!

If he gave you breath in your lungs, sing unto the Lord

If he gave you hands to clap, clap.

Psalm 47:1 KJV 1900

O clap your hands, all ye people; Shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

It’s difficult to bring down a heavenly experience when we’re still in a worldly environment!
