Living Under Wrath But Still Loved!

King James Version Chapter 1

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

I. The Threefold Wrath of God.

How is this wrath revealed?

i. The Present Wrath

A rejection of light means more darkness!

ii. The Tribulation Wrath

iii. The Eternal Wrath

I cannot truly talk you you this night about the threefold wrath of God without speaking to you about “the threefold love of God!” Therefore our second point in this message is the threefold love of God!

II. The Threefold Love of God.

How is this love revealed?

i. The Love Of The Father - God so loved

ii. The Love Of The Son - Jesus lover of My soul, He loved me yet He knew me

iii. The Love Of The Spirit - Striving with man

Finallly, I would like to turn your attention to what is known as “the threefold effect that this love has upon those who are under God’s wrath!”

III. The Threefold Effect Of This Love Upon Those Who Are Under God’s Wrath.

i. This great love is what holds back the wrath of present day sin.

A praying parent, a praying church, an interceding Saviour.

ii. This great love is what holds back the wrath of eternity.

God knows who is going to accept Him. Everyone has been given plenty of opportunity. Everyone is without excuse. God allows us to continue on despite our disobedience to Him and even despite our downward spiral into immorality. Despite our degradation.

iii. This great love is what holds back the wrath of the tribulation.

This great love is one of the reasons why Jesus has not returned yet.
