Genesis 25:24–28 KJV 1900
And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them. And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.
Genesis 27:36 KJV 1900
And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?
Genesis 27:41–42 KJV 1900
And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob. And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee.
Genesis 32:22–26 KJV 1900
And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had. And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
Genesis 3:14–15 KJV 1900
And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Genesis 25:29–34 KJV 1900
And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
Genesis 27:15–16 KJV 1900
And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son: And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck:
Genesis 27:22–25 KJV 1900
And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands: so he blessed him. And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am. And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son’s venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine, and he drank.
GETTING “HEELED
Heel is 6X in the Old Testament
Defined: to supplant, to circumvent, to defraud
Whenever “heel” is being used in the scriptures it usually means that something nefarious is going on.
Jacob: Heel-catcher, Supplanter and Deceiver
“Heel-catcher” someone who trips others to gain an advantage
Jacob always did “whatever took” to get ahead.
Jacob personality, ambition and drive matched his name.
Jacob is the Son of Isaac and Rebekah
Jacob grabbed heel of his elder twin, while in the womb, and tripped him, as it were. Gen 25:24-28
Jacob deceived (“heeled”) Esau for the birthright reserved for the firstborn for a bowl of STEW!!!! Gen 25:29-34
Jacob deceived (“heeled”) Isaac (his father), in order to Gen 27:15-16

Jacob wrestles with a man who happens to be God. Gen 32:22-32
When the man was overpowered by Jacob
The Man “TOUCHED” the hollow of Jacob’s thigh and dislocated his hip.
Then the Man told Jacob “Let me go!”
Jacob said, “I will NOT let you go UNLESS you bless me.”
and guess what,
Genesis 32:27–30 (KJV 1900)
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. 28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. 29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. 30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
============================================================================================================
So, here is what we know...
Esau got “heeled” in the womb by Jacob
Esau got “heeled” by Jacob when he stole his birthright as the eldest son
Esau got “heeled” by Jacob again when he stole his blessing
Isaac got “heeled” by Jacob and his mother.
Laban got “heeled” by Jacob
But, this isn’t the end of the story;
Adam got “heeled” by Satan in the garden
Genesis 3:4–6 (KJV 1900)
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Genesis 3:15 (KJV 1900)
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise (crush or break) thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Jesus, our second ADAM, got “heeled” by Satan but to no avail because He rose from the dead
Satan got “heeled”
1 John 3:8 (ESV)
...The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
Hebrews 2:14 (ESV)
14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,
But for this to happen...
Isaiah 53:5 (KJV 1900)
5  But he was wounded for our transgressions,
He was BRUISED for our iniquities:
The chastisement of our peace was upon him;
And with his stripes we are healed.
Death got “heeled”
1 Corinthians 15:26 (KJV 1900)
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1 Corinthians 15:51–58 (KJV 1900)
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Do you wrestle with God?
Have you inquired to know who God is?
Has He given YOU a new name? Is it still Jacob or is it Israel?
Has broken you like He did Jacob?
Do you see God through the eyes of faith?
Has He revealed Himself to you?
Have you acknowledge receipt of His many blessings?
Do you that you are preserved in Him?
Do you know that you saved with no ability to turn back?
