Introduction. At the end of this age several things must come to pass …

1. Jesus will return to gather His own …

(a)As He left (Acts 1:11)—as He promised (John 14:3) …
(b)This is the first resurrection, v. 5–6
1 Thess. 4:15–17

2. The manifestation of works—1 Cor. 3:13–15

3. The Tribulation—Millennium, v. 4–6

4. The Final Judgment—WE STAND BEFORE GOD …

(a)This is the time when “every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord …”
(b)This is the “Great Day,” the Day of the Lord …

I. WE SHALL STAND BEFORE GOD

1. God, whose face no man can see and live …

2. God, whose glory was revealed to Isaiah … Isa. 6:1–8

3. God, Who is omniscient and omnipotent …

4. God, whose WORD is the final authority … Interpretations and opinions will not count here …

5. God, who is altogether holy and righteous …

6. God, who created the earth—and also shall destroy it …

II. WE SHALL STAND BEFORE GOD …

1. The destiny of Christians was sealed at Calvary … But they will be there, v. 4

2. Every person will be there, v. 12–13

3. We will be there …

III. WE SHALL STAND BEFORE GOD …

1. Christians shall hear, “Come, ye blessed of my Father …” (Matt. 25:34) …

2. All others shall hear,

(a)“I never knew, depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matt. 7:23) …
(b)“Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” …

3. These are cast into Hell, v. 14–15

Conclusion:
There will be no mercy here—only judgment …

1. Pronunciation of the sentence of death …

2. Separation—from God, loved ones, friends …

3. THIS IS WHY JESUS GAVE HIS ALL—that you may avoid the second death …
