12 And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord.
13 Then seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord went on continually and blew with the trumpets. And the armed men went before them. But the rear guard came after the ark of the Lord, while the priests continued blowing the trumpets.
14 And the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. So they did six days.
15 But it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early, about the dawning of the day, and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. On that day only they marched around the city seven times.
JUST JERICHO IT!
They had 3 things:
God’s Presence
God’s Word
Faith
(BUT, faith without works is dead.)
God is LOOKING for a way to travel from YOU into your situation! Into your loved ones! Into those who are around you!
Don’t hold God back! Don’t block Him from entering your situation! He needs to get through those walls!
What was the marching about?
They had the ark!
See, when you spend time in His presence, you don’t even realize it, but your marching around something!
You’re filling yourself with His presence!
If He’s not IN YOU, He can’t come OUT OF YOU!
Even when you’re facing walls, opposition, difficulty, frustration, weapons, you say, “I’m gonna spend time out here with my God!”
But here’s the thing: we don’t have to march anymore.
12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.
19 And he said, “O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!” So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
20 Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come.
21 But I will tell you what is noted in the Scripture of Truth. (No one upholds me against these, except Michael your prince.
WHAT ABOUT NOW?
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,
16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.
18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Because of what Jesus did, we don’t have to march! Gabriel doesn’t have to battle princes to get to us! God’s here with us already! He’s IN US!
The more time you spend, the more aspects of you are affected by it.
How much time do you spend in God’s presence?
This changes our concept of prayer. EVERYONE focuses on asking for stuff, but what if all God’s looking for is to come in and change you? Come in and renew your mind? Come in and melt away the anger and stress?
If your missing this time in His presence every day, your missing the healing effects of His presence on every aspect of you: your body, your thoughts, your attitude, your faith, your desire to please Him. His presence brings healing.
The goal isnt asking, the goal is time daily spent on no other activity but bathing or soaking in His presence.
Yes spend some time asking, but spend most of it basking.
What effect does being in God’s presence have?
transformation, freedom, peace, mercy, & grace.
your mind is renewed, thus transforming you
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
things that had you bound are broken
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Liberty: eleutheria
liberty n. — personal freedom from servitude, confinement, or oppression.
you get peace
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Supplication: deesei
divine entreaty n. — an earnest or urgent request (to God).
we get mercy and grace to help!
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT!!!
Tongues & Worship.
If you don’t spend time in His presence, are you filled with His presence?
Should we ask for stuff too? If so, how do we know what to ask for?
Your prayer life is so much more than asking for stuff, youre loading yourself up! You’re loading yourself with His presence so you can take Him from your prayer closet, to your situation.
