Love is the most powerful force in the universe.
It transcends time generations and can change things that seem to be impossible.
1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT
13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

The Power of Love Sacrifices

The greatest love of all
John 15:13 ESV
13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
Love will give anything to protect others
Mama bear – don’t mess with her cubs. God – don’t touch the apple of His eye = church

The Power of Love is Victorious

His banner over me is love.
Song of Solomon 2:4 ESV
4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.

The Power of Love Includes Everybody

Love does not have favorites
Matthew 5:46 ESV
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

The Power of Love Destroys the Power of Sin

1 John 4:10 ESV
10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

The Power of Love Makes a Way

… where there seems to be no way
John 3:16 ESV
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Love always seems to find enough
– to meet the need, even though it looks as if there is not enough to “go around” or to “make ends meet”
A loving parent always provides for his or her kids, even at the expense of themselves.

The Power of Love Preaches the Gospel

John 13:35 ESV
35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

The Power of Love is a Conquering Force

Romans 8:37 ESV
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

The Power of Love is the Most Powerful Commandment

Mr 12:28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
Mark 12:28 ESV
28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”
Mark 12:30 ESV
30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
Mark 12:31 ESV
31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:31 ESV
31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Joh 15:9 "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
John 15:12 ESV
12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Ro 13:9 The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

The Power of Love Builds Up

1Co 8:1 Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
1 Corinthians 8:1 ESV
1 Now concerning food offered to idols: we know that “all of us possess knowledge.” This “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up.
1Co 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
1Co 13:7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1Co 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Love is why Jesus came and died

Eph 2:4-7 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-- it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

The Power of Love Holds You

Love is an anchor
Eph 3:17 – rooted and established in love
God’s love cannot be understood with the natural mind
Eph 3:19 – and to know this love that surpasses knowledge
Love is designed to grow
Philippians 1:9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,

The Power of Love Drives Out Fear

2Ti 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
1Jo 4:18-19 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.
Love is the hallmark of the Christian life
John 15:10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.
1Jo 2:5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:
1Jo 4:7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
1Jo 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
1Jo 4:16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

The Power of Love Covers Sin

Joseph
Loved God – kept him from sin with Potiphar’s wife
Loved brothers – forgave them after all their betrayal
Pr 10:12b Love covers over all wrongs.
