Staying True involves some very important principals ,

But before we look at these principals allow us to set the outline for this third Challenge during the Covid 19 times.

I] READ THE WORD OF GOD 1st PRINCIPAL

TRUTH is spoken of in

2 very important Ways

a. Saviour John 14:6

John 14:6 KJV 1900
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

b. Scriptures John 17:17

John 17:17 KJV 1900
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

We are going to follow some truths through before we get to the Principal of Reading God’s Word

3 THINGS ARE INVOLVED IN THIS VERY IMPORTANT AREA.

A. Settle your Eternal DESTINY

We are all going to spend Eternity in one of two Places that is a fact one cannot argue with , Many will try but the moment they pass from this world they soon find out the truth of HEAVEN or HELL, Heb 9:22 , 27

Hebrews 9:22 KJV 1900
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Hebrews 9:27 KJV 1900
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

We will all DIE but after that JUDGEMENT

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH JESUS

1. SALVATION of the SOUL

2. TRANSFORMATION of the MIND

3. SANCTIFICATION of the SPIRIT.

4. GLORIFICATION of the BODY.

B. Secure your DIRECTION.

C. Staying on COURSE.

II] RELY UPON THE HOLY SPIRIT.

III] RECOGNIZE AND REALIZE GOD’S PRESENCE.

1. Salvation OF THE SOUL

{WHAT HAVE WE DONE WITH JESUS}

HOW IS ONE’S SOUL SAVED ?

TO DO THIS WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND SOME VERY IMPORTANT TRUTHS FROM GOD’S WORD. John 3:16

John 3:16 KJV 1900
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

But we find in The New Testament 2 Peter 3:9

2 Peter 3:9 KJV 1900
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But it is very apparent that something happened What happened .

What Happened?

God is the great Creator, the One who made all things.

The universe did not come into being by itself. God created it!

The very first verse in the Bible says:

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:1

Genesis 1:1 KJV 1900
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

To "create" means to make something out of nothing. Only God can do this.

The Bible tells us how God created the universe. He did it by His word! The Bible says:

"By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth." Psalm 33:6

Psalm 33:6 KJV 1900
6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

God's word is powerful! God just spoke and the universe came into being. The Bible says:

"For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast." Psalm 33:9

Psalm 33:9 KJV 1900
9 For he spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

God created the angels

Angels are spirit-beings, created by God to be His messengers or servants. God created many angels. Angels are very powerful and wonderful creatures but they are not to be worshipped.

God created man

When God created the earth, He prepared it to be inhabited. He created all plant life. He created many different kinds of fish, birds and land animals. Then God was ready for His most wonderful creation.

What is God's most wonderful creation?

It is man!

Why is this true?

It is true because man was created "in the image of God." The Bible says:

"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created he them." Genesis 1:27

Genesis 1:27 KJV 1900
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

God made the first man out of the dust of the ground. His name was Adam. God made a beautiful wife for Adam. Her name was Eve.

God planted a garden for Adam and Eve to live in. It was called "the Garden of Eden." You and I have never seen a garden so beautiful as the Garden of Eden.

In this garden was every kind of tree that was beautiful to look at and good for food. A river of pure, sparkling water flowed through the garden. Adam and Eve had everything they needed to make them happy.

God told Adam and Eve that they could freely eat of every tree in the garden except one. God commanded them not to eat of "the tree of knowledge of good and evil." God said that, if they ate the fruit of this tree, they would surely die.

Adam and Eve were very happy. The thing they enjoyed most of all was this: God Himself came down to visit them in the cool of the evening. God came to walk and to talk with Adam and Eve.

God was pleased with His creation. He looked at all that He had made and saw that it was "very good." The Bible says,

"He has made everything beautiful." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Ecclesiastes 3:11 KJV 1900
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

What happened?

When God made the world, He made everything beautiful. The first people were very happy. But now many things are not beautiful, and people are often unhappy. There is lying, stealing, hatred and fighting in the world today. There is sickness, sadness and death. Sin has spoiled God's beautiful world.

How did sin get into the world? How did sin get into men's hearts? The Bible tells us how it happened.

First, some of the angels rebelled against God. Then Adam and Eve rebelled against God. Let us consider these two rebellions.

The rebellion of the angels

When God created the angels, He placed one angel over all the other angels. His name was Lucifer.

He was the most beautiful, the most powerful, and the wisest of all the angels in Heaven.

It seems that, for some time after he was created, this mighty angel loved God and obeyed Him perfectly. But a time came when Lucifer chose to rebel against God.

Because he was so beautiful and so powerful, Lucifer's heart was lifted up with pride. He decided that he should be God!

He said in his heart:

I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. Isaiah 14:13

Isaiah 14:13 KJV 1900
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

What was Lucifer's great sin? It was the sin of rebellion against God. God saw what was in Lucifer's heart and He cast him down from his exalted position.

His name was changed to Satan which means "adversary" or "enemy."

Satan was the first angel to rebel against God but many other angels followed him in his rebellion. These angels who followed Satan are called "fallen angels" while those who remained true to God are called "holy angels." Satan and his fallen angels were cast out of Heaven.

Satan and his fallen angels set up a kingdom opposed to God. Ever since Satan's rebellion, there have been two spiritual kingdoms in the universe:

the kingdom of Satan and the kingdom of God.

One day Satan and his followers will be cast into hell, into the lake of fire. This terrible place was not prepared for men but for the devil and his angels.

The rebellion of man

When God created Adam and Eve He placed them in the Garden of Eden. He told them that they could eat the fruit of every tree in the garden except one.

God commanded them not to eat of "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil." God warned them that if they disobeyed Him, they would surely die.

One day Satan came into the garden in the form of a serpent. His purpose was to deceive Eve. Satan told Eve that she would not surely die if she ate the forbidden fruit. He told her that she and her husband would become "as gods" by eating this fruit.

Eve believed Satan's lie. She took the forbidden fruit and ate it. Eve was deceived by Satan. Eve then offered the fruit to Adam.

Now Adam had to make a choice. Adam was not deceived by what Satan had told Eve. He knew what God had said. Nevertheless, Adam took the forbidden fruit and ate it. Adam and Eve had disobeyed God.

A righteous God could not overlook their sin. God called Adam and Eve before Him. He told them that they would have to leave the beautiful Garden of Eden.

Adam died spiritually

Adam's disobedience affected the whole human family, and it affected you and me. It brought sin into the world. The Bible says:

"By one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin." Romans 5:12

Romans 5:12 KJV 1900
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Sin separates us from God. When Adam sinned, he was cut off from the life of God.

God had said,

"In the day that you eat thereof, you shall surely die." Genesis 2:17

Genesis 2:17 KJV 1900
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Adam died spiritually that very day, and he began to die physically.

Something else happened. Adam's disobedience affected the whole human race. Adam was different from all other men in that he was the first man. The whole human race came from him. Since Adam was the head of the human family, what happened to him affected the whole human family.

When Adam disobeyed God, he became a sinner. Adam passed his sinful nature on to his children and to the whole human race. Adam produced a race of sinners.

The Bible says:

"By one man's disobedience many were made sinners." Romans 5:19

Romans 5:19 KJV 1900
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

But God still loved Adam and Eve and, on that same day, He made a wonderful promise to them. He promised them that one day He would send a Savior into the world.

That Savior would be God's own Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

SECTION 1

I. See That All Have Sinned.

Romans 3:23 KJV 1900
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

A. What is sin?

1. According to 1 John 3:4, sin is the ________________________ of the law.

1 John 3:4 KJV 1900
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

What does it mean to “transgress” the law?

It has two basic meanings:

#1 — “To go beyond what the law allows.”

#2 — “Not to do as much as the law commands.”

Note: Please notice the following two examples in Scripture.

2. James 2:11 says that if you ________ someone, you become a transgressor of the law — you have gone beyond what the law allows.

James 2:11 KJV 1900
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

3. According to James 2:8,9, if you show respect (in the form of partiality) toward certain people, then you are a transgressor, because you are to love your _______________ as yourself — you have not done the minimum of what the law requires.

James 2:8 KJV 1900
8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
James 2:9 KJV 1900
9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

Note: Although killing someone is a more serious crime than not loving one’s neighbor, they are both sin. One is going beyond what the law allows, and the other is not doing the least that the law requires. This last point is not often thought of as sin, but it is.

4. James 4:17 tells us that if we know to do ________, and do not do it, then we are committing sin.

James 4:17 KJV 1900
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

5. It is not just the big crimes that are sin, but all disobedience, according to James 2:10. It says that if you obey the whole law, and yet disobey in one point, you are __________ of all.

James 2:10 KJV 1900
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Illustration: The speed laws out on the expressway are a good picture of this truth. The speed limit at the present time is ____ miles per hour. If you go 1 m.p.h. faster than that, are you breaking the law? ____. But there is also another speed law out on the expressway, which says that you must at least go ____ miles per hour. If you go 1 m.p.h. slower than that, are you breaking the law? ____. You will probably not receive a ticket unless you are going well above or well below the speed law, but do you see that just 1 m.p.h. places you outside the boundaries of the law? ____.

In the same way, we have all transgressed God’s law.

At times, we have gone beyond what He allows.

At other times, we have not done the least

which He has commanded.

Question: Do you realize that you are a sinner; that is, that you have transgressed the law of God?

YES

NO

B. Why is there sin in the world?

1. According to Romans 5:12, sin entered into the world by one ________.

Romans 5:12 KJV 1900
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

2. Romans 5:14 tells us the name of the first man to transgress or sin. What was his name? ________

Romans 5:14 KJV 1900
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

3. In Genesis 1:27, it tells us that man was created in the image of ______.

Genesis 1:27 KJV 1900
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

4. Genesis 1:31 says that everything that God has made (including man) was very ________.

Genesis 1:31 KJV 1900
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Note: It is obvious that man was not created as a sinner, because he was created in the image, the likeness (morally, intellectually, and emotionally) of God. So where did man ever get the idea to sin?

5. When God created man, where did He place him to live and work, according to Genesis 2:15 _________________________________

Genesis 2:15 KJV 1900
15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

_____________________________________________________________

6. Genesis 2:16,17 shows us that there was only one law and one penalty in that place. What were they?

Genesis 2:16 KJV 1900
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Genesis 2:17 KJV 1900
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

a. The law —

b. The penalty —

Note: The tree was named that, because man had never experienced disobedience or evil before; but if he chose to disobey and eat of it, he would have personal knowledge of doing both good and evil.

7. According to Genesis 2:21-23, what did God make out of Adam’s rib? ______________

Genesis 2:21–23 KJV 1900
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

8. In Genesis 3:1-5, Satan, through a serpent, tempted the woman to ______ of the forbidden tree.

Genesis 3:1–5 KJV 1900
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

9. Who ate of the tree first — the man, or the woman? ________________ (vs. 6)

Note: Romans 5:12 declares that sin entered into the world by one ______.

Romans 5:12 KJV 1900
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Even though it was the woman who ate of it first,

it was Adam who was held responsible  for such an action.

He was right there with her and did not stop her,

even though he knew that it was wrong.

Illustration: When the space shuttle Challenger exploded on takeoff, it was not the workers who installed the faulty seals who were blamed. The blame did not rest upon the workers who inspected the space shuttle that morning. The blame rested upon the one in charge who gave permission to launch, when there was the possibility of trouble. Even so, Adam, the one in charge, was held responsible for the disaster of sin, because he could have stopped it from happening.

C. Why do we sin?

1. Romans 5:19 tells us that by one man’s (Adam’s) disobedience, many were made _________.

Romans 5:19 KJV 1900
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

2. Psalm 51:5 states that we were born or conceived in _______.

Psalm 51:5 KJV 1900
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me.

3. According to Job 14:4, you cannot bring something clean out of something __________.

Job 14:4 KJV 1900
4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

Because of Adam and Eve’s sin, we are also born in sin.

The process of conception and birth are not sinful in themselves,

but it is the sin nature that is passed down from the parents

to the children at the moment of conception.

Illustration: Doctors tell us that a baby born of a mother addicted to drugs will also be addicted. The baby will actually be born craving that drug, and it will experience withdrawal symptoms if it is withheld. Sin is passed down in much the same way. The first parents, Adam and Eve, tasted of sin; and since that time, every baby of human parents has been born with a nature craving and desiring sin. It is what we call the “sin nature”.

No one has to teach you how to sin — you do it

“naturally”. In fact, if you are honest with yourself,

you find it easier to do wrong than to do right.

No one has to teach a child how to get mad or how

to lie, because it is in his very “nature” to do such things.

4. Romans 3:23 tells us that ______ people have sinned.

Romans 3:23 KJV 1900
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

5. In Ecclesiastes 7:20, we read that there is not a just man anywhere upon __________, that does only good and never sins.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 KJV 1900
20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

6. 1 John 1:10 says that we are calling God a ________ if we say that we have not sinned.

1 John 1:10 KJV 1900
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Note: We are not only sinners by nature, but also sinners by choice. We were born as sinners, but we cannot blame all of our sin upon Adam and Eve, nor upon our parents; because we have, time after time, made the choice to sin.

We often hear people blame crime upon their

“environment,” or upon their “surroundings,”

as if they had no choice but to commit the crime.

But it is not big cities and crowds that cause

crime — it is man’s sinful heart.

Illustration:Take, for example, the crime of murder. Please take your Bible and turn to Genesis chapter 4, and discover the background of the first murder.

a. What were the names of the first four people upon earth, according to verses 1 and 2? ________ ________ ________ ________

b. Verse 8 reveals that the first murder did not take place in a large city, but out in a __________.

c. That verse also shows us that the first murderer did not kill a stranger, but his very own ______________.

d. The motive for the murder, according to verses 4-9, was not that Cain needed anything from Abel, but that Cain was ______________ of Abel’s better offering.

Note: So the very first person to ever be born, Cain (Adam & Eve were directly created by God, not naturally born of earthly parents), made the choice to kill his very own brother.

Question: Do you realize that you were not only born with a sin nature, but that you have also made the choice to sin countless times?   q YES q NO

Section 2

II. See The Penalty of Sin.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

A. Sin brings death.

1. Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages, or payment, of sin is __________.

Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2. According to Romans 5:12, death entered into the world because of ______.

Romans 5:12 KJV 1900
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

3. That same verse further states that all men will die because ______ have sinned.

4. Because of man’s sin, we read in Genesis 3:22-24 that he was barred from eating of the __________________________; so, physically, he would not live forever.

Genesis 3:22–24 KJV 1900
22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: 23 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. 24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Note: It is very clear that God created man to physically live forever. There was to be no death; but, because of man’s sin, death entered into the world.

B. Sin brings spiritual death.

1. God warned Adam that if he ate of the forbidden tree, he would die that very ______, according to Genesis 2:17.

Genesis 2:17 KJV 1900
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

2. That could not have referred to physical death, because they continued to live and face certain consequences. Please read Genesis 3:16-19, and see what the consequences were.

Genesis 3:16–19 KJV 1900
16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

a. The woman would now face greatly multiplied sorrow (in the form of labor and pain) in conception, and in bringing forth ________________.

b. Adam would have sorrow (in the form of labor and pain), because the ___________ would now be cursed. He would have to work hard in the sweat of his face to provide food for his family.

It is obvious that Adam and Eve did not die physically

the day that they sinned, because God handed down

physical hardships with which they now had to live.

So in what way did they die that day?

Note: Please notice the following questions to discover the answer.

3. Please read John 3:1-12, and fill in the following blanks.

John 3:1–12 KJV 1900
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

    a. Jesus said in verse 3, that except a person is ________ again, he will not be able to see the kingdom of God.

    b. In verse 4, Nicodemus wonders how he is ever going to fit back into his mother’s ________ to be born for the second time.

    c. Jesus makes it clear in verses 5 and 6 that He is not talking about two physical births.

1.) “That which is born of the flesh is __________.”

2.) “That which is born of the Spirit is ____________.”

Note: Jesus makes it very clear that He is referring to two separate births — a physical one, and a spiritual one.

Illustration: In verse 8, Jesus gives a picture of the spiritual birth by comparing it to the ________.

You cannot see the wind, but you can certainly see

what it does to the trees and objects in its path.

Even so, you cannot see the actual spirit of a person

being “born again” (because the spirit of a person is

invisible like the wind), but you can sure see

the effect of such a birth in a person’s life.

That person will experience a new desire to do right, so bad attitudes and habits will change. This does not mean that the person suddenly becomes perfect (we will not be perfect until we get to heaven). But just as the wind moves things in the direction it is blowing, so God will move the believer in the direction of righteousness.

4. James 2:26 says that the body without the __________ is dead.

James 2:26 KJV 1900
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Note: There is much controversy over exactly when life starts, and when it ends. Psalm 51:5 showed us earlier that the sin nature is passed down at conception, so a person is “living” at that moment.

Psalm 51:5 KJV 1900
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me.

The medical definition of death has changed over the years. It used to be that when a heartbeat or pulse could no longer be detected, the person was considered to be dead. Now, with machines capable of pumping blood and oxygen into a person whose body has ceased to function, a new definition of death has been put forth. It is now accepted medically, that a person has died when the brain waves cease.

The Bible defines physical death as “the moment

when the spirit leaves the body.”

But the Bible speaks of more than just one death, the physical death. Please study the following verses to discover what other death a person could possibly experience.

5. In Revelation 20:6, a person is said to be blessed and holy if he has a part in the first resurrection, because the ____________ death will have no power over him.

Revelation 20:6 KJV 1900
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

6. According to Revelation 20:14, the second death occurs when death and hell are cast into the ____________________________.

Revelation 20:14 KJV 1900
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Death is never “ceasing to exist”.   Death is separation.

#1 — Physical death is when the spirit is separated

from the body.

#2 — Spiritual death is when the spirit is separated from God.

(This is what happened the day that Adam and Eve sinned.

The only way they could ever be united again with God

in their spirits, would be if they were spiritually

“born again,” or “brought to life.”)

#3 — The second death is when a person is

physically and spiritually separated from God forever.

(The lost person is physically resurrected to stand

before God at the Great White Throne Judgment, and then

cast into the lake of fire to be separated from God forever.)

7. Daniel 12:2 says that many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth (they are physically dead) shall awake (they will be physically resurrected). But their resurrections are quite different.

Daniel 12:2 KJV 1900
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

“Some to everlasting life (here referring to Old Testament believers receiving their new glorified bodies), and some to __________ and everlasting contempt” (here referring to lost people being physically resurrected to experience that second death — eternal separation from God).

8. According to John 5:28,29, “______ that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth.”

John 5:28 KJV 1900
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
John 5:29 KJV 1900
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

9. What happens when they are resurrected is not the same for everyone, because verse 29 says, “they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of __________________.”

10. Acts 24:15 teaches the same thing, that lost people will be physically resurrected to face an eternal judgment, because it says, “there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and ____________.”

Acts 24:15 KJV 1900
15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Illustration: Please read Luke 16:19-31 to discover what it is like immediately after a person dies. To the person who is spiritually born again, it is peace and comfort. But to the person who is spiritually dead, it is pain and torment.

Luke 16:19–31 KJV 1900
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Notice that a person’s decision cannot be changed after death occurs.

The rich man in this story has yet to face the Great White Throne Judgment, where he will be cast into the lake of fire.

Question: Do you realize that the penalty for your sin is not only physical death, but also a second death in the lake of fire forever? q YES q NO

III. See The Love of God for Sinners.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”(Romans 5:8)

Romans 5:8 KJV 1900
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

A. He loved us enough to be born upon earth.

1. Please read Matthew 1:18-25, and fill in the following blanks.

    a. Mary was espoused (engaged) to ____________. (vs. 18)

    b. The baby in Mary’s womb was conceived of the ____________________. (vs.18-20)

    c. The child was to be called Jesus, because He would ________ His people from their sins. (vs. 21)

    d. This fulfilled the prophecy that “a ____________ shall be with child”.(vs. 23)

    e. The child would also be called Emmanuel, because He would be, “______ with us”.(vs. 23)

Jesus was not born with a sin nature like you and I,

because His birth was a miracle of the Holy Ghost

coming upon the virgin Mary. He was upon the earth

as God in human flesh (see also John 1:14).

John 1:14 KJV 1900
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

2. According to John 6:38, Jesus came down from ____________.

John 6:38 KJV 1900
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

3. Please compare Matthew 2:1-6 and Micah 5:2. Micah 5:2 is a prophecy about Jesus, and it says that His “goings forth,” (His conducting of activity and business) has been from ______________________.

Matthew 2:1–6 KJV 1900
1 Now when Jesus was born in Beth-lehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. 5 And they said unto him, In Beth-lehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, 6 And thou Beth-lehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
Micah 5:2 KJV 1900
2 But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, Though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Micah 5:2 KJV 1900
2 But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, Though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

4. In John 5:18, the Jews clearly understood that Jesus, by claiming to be the Son of God, was saying that He was __________ with God.

John 5:18 KJV 1900
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Note: Jesus did not come into existence at His birth upon earth. He had always existed as God. Every person begins to exist at the moment they are conceived, but Jesus existed in heaven before His miracle birth. According to Micah 5:2, He has always existed. This can be said only of God — so Jesus is God.

Micah 5:2 KJV 1900
2 But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, Though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Illustration: We admire and respect young men who willingly leave the pleasures and comfort of home to go and defend their country. We admire people who give their lives for missionary service, thus leaving behind a life of comfort and possessions. But think of Jesus. He left heaven, where there is no pain, no suffering, no dirt, and no sin. He left it all to be born out in a stable, and to eventually die for us, that we might be freed from sin. How much more should we love, admire, and respect Him!

B. He loved us enough to die on the cross.

1. Hebrews 9:22 says that there is no remission without the shedding of __________.

Hebrews 9:22 KJV 1900
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Note: The word remission means “to dismiss, release, or forgive”. There can be forgiveness no other way, because Romans 6:23 says that the wages of sin is __________.

Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2. After Adam and Eve sinned, Genesis 3:21 says that God made coats of __________ for them.

Genesis 3:21 KJV 1900
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

3. What must God have done to get animal skins?

_____________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________

Note: We see the sad truth here that our sin causes other people and things to suffer. God was gracious to man, and accepted the innocent blood of animals to cover man’s sin, temporarily.

4. Hebrews 10:4 says that it is impossible for the blood of animals to __________________ sins.

Hebrews 10:4 KJV 1900
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

The blood of innocent animals was only the promise of a future payment, and not the actual payment itself.

Illustration: It may be that you have a personal checking account. When you go to the store and write a check, that is not the actual payment for the items you purchase. That check is only the promise that the store will receive money from your account. All of the blood of innocent animals that was shed for man’s sake was only a “check,” only a “promise” of the actual payment to come.

5. According to John 3:16, God loved us enough to give His ______ in our place.

John 3:16 KJV 1900
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

6. Romans 5:7,8 tells us that some people are willing to die for a good person, but Christ died for us while we were yet ______________.

Romans 5:7 KJV 1900
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
Romans 5:8 KJV 1900
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

7. According to 1 Peter 3:18, this is the just dying for the ____________.

1 Peter 3:18 KJV 1900
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

8. Hebrews 2:9 says that Jesus tasted __________ for every man.

Hebrews 2:9 KJV 1900
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

9. Jesus, on the cross, put away sin by the sacrifice of ______________, according to Hebrews 9:26.

Hebrews 9:26 KJV 1900
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

A perfect sacrifice  was needed to save man from the

penalty of sin. Only a miraculous birth could produce

such a person. God gave His Son to be that one.

10. According to 1 Peter 2:21-24, He did no ______, but He bare our sins in His own body on the tree (the cross).

Illustration: Suppose that a man was trying to outrun the police, and lost control of his car. His car then hit a school bus, killing a dozen children. The court decided that the man was worthy of the death penalty. Would you give your son to die in his place so that he could live? Probably not. But God did exactly that for us. We were running away from Him, going our own way. In the process, we have dragged many people down with us. Because of our sin, we deserve death — eternal death. But God was willing to give His Son to die in our place, that we might live forever. Question: Do you realize that God loved you enough, personally, to give His Son to die in your place? q YES q NO

IV. See The Answer for Salvation.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

(Romans 10:9,10)

Romans 10:9 KJV 1900
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 KJV 1900
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

A. We must come to God in repentance.

1. Luke 13:3 says that all people will perish, unless they ____________.

Luke 13:3 KJV 1900
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

To “repent,” means “to perceive afterwards,” or

“to change your mind”. You change your mind about sin

(that it is not worth the cost, nor is it really satisfying).

You change your mind about God  (that He is not just a

swear word, but a loving God that gave His Son

to die in your place to pay for your sin debt).

2. Godly ____________ for sin, according to II Corinthians 7:10, produces repentance.

2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV 1900
10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

3. According to that verse, the sorrow of the world (unsaved people) produces __________.

Note: All people, at one time or another, feel guilty or bad when they have done something wrong. At that point, the sorrow of the world leads a person to depression, and possibly even to suicide. But godly sorrow at that point, will lead a person to God – where true forgiveness can be obtained.

4. Acts 26:20 shows us that true repentance causes us to ________ to God.

Acts 26:20 KJV 1900
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Illustration: Suppose that you are out driving, and develop trouble with your car. If you just sit there doing nothing, your car will not get fixed, and your trouble will not go away. You will just get more and more discouraged. The only other choice that you have is to get help from someone who is qualified to fix the problem. That will get your car running, and that will make you happy. Even so, just sitting and feeling bad about your sin will never help you. You will only get more and more depressed. What you must do is go to the only one who can fix your sin problem — God.

Note: For fear of scaring people away with preaching on repentance, churches are now advertising, “Come as you are!” “Casual, accepting atmosphere!” Please notice the previous verses that we have covered here. If there is no repentance, then there is no salvation. A person coming to God with all of his/her sin, and no desire or intention of turning from it, is not truly repentant.

Repentance is not cleaning up yourself (that is self-reformation, and is doomed to fail).

Repentance is the desire to have God cleanse you from all of your sin,

and give you a new life in Christ Jesus.

B. We must come to God in faith.

1. Hebrews 11:6 says that a person who comes to God must ______________ that He is; that is, that He exists.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV 1900
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

2. According to Hebrews 11:1, faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the ________________ of things which cannot be seen.

Hebrews 11:1 KJV 1900
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

3. Romans 10:17 reveals that the only place to get faith is from the ________ of God, which is the Bible.

Romans 10:17 KJV 1900
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Note: Faith is not a blind leap in the dark. It is an intelligent step based on the facts of the Bible. You will notice from Hebrews 11:1, that faith has substance and evidence. These words can only be used of something which is real.

Hebrews 11:1 KJV 1900
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Illustration: The United States did not send men to the moon without first thoroughly researching the matter. It was not a blast out into the darkness of space, somehow hoping that the rocket would arrive at the right place to meet the moon. By careful calculations and much study, they determined that it was possible to safely land men on the moon.

It is foolish for people to just “hope” that somehow they will go to heaven.

No one will ever reach heaven by “accident”. It can only be reached through

hearing, believing, and obeying what the Bible says to do to get saved.

4. Romans 10:9,10 says that if you confess with your __________ the Lord Jesus, and if you believe in your __________ that He did indeed rise from the dead, then you shall be saved.

It takes more than believing that He will save you

— you must actually receive what He offers.

Illustration: Suppose that I offered you a million dollar check, and the bank confirmed to you that I actually had that much money. My offer would do you no good unless you accepted it. Even so, many people realize that they are sinners. They also believe that Jesus did actually die on the cross, and that He rose again from the dead. They even know, down in their hearts, that they should get saved. But as long as they put it off, they will never be saved. It is one thing to be offered something, and it is quite another thing to actually reach out and accept it.

5. Romans 6:23 tells us that eternal life is the ________ of God through Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

6. Ephesians 2:8,9 shows us that salvation is the ________ of God, and not of any works that we do.

Ephesians 2:8 KJV 1900
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9 KJV 1900
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Illustration: If you have to pay one penny for an item, then it is not a gift, but a purchase. If you have to work one minute for something, it is not a gift, but part of your wages. In the verses above, salvation is said to be a gift. That means that you do not have to pay one penny for it, nor do you have to work one minute for it — because Jesus paid it all. What you must do is reach out and accept what God is freely offering to you.

Question: Have you turned to God from your sin, and have you asked the Lord Jesus Christ to save you? q YES q NO

REVIEW:

1. Unless all people ____________, they will perish.

2. Godly ____________ for sin produces repentance.

3. What are the two words that describe faith, proving that it is not just a blind leap in the dark? ________________ __________________

4. The only place to get faith is from the __________.

5. To get saved, a person must do more than believe in God, he must actually ______________ what God is offering.

SECTION 5

V. See The Assurance of Salvation.

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;

that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” (I John 5:13)

1 John 5:13 KJV 1900
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

A. You can never lose your salvation because of Jesus’ payment.

1. Hebrews 10:12 says that Jesus offered ______ sacrifice for sins for ________.

Hebrews 10:12 KJV 1900
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

2. Hebrews 9:12 tells us that Jesus, by His own blood, entered in ________ into the holy place, having obtained ______________ redemption for us.

Hebrews 9:12 KJV 1900
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Note: Jesus paid for all the sins that every person has ever committed, or ever will commit. He did this by offering one sacrifice for all eternity.

3. According to Hebrews 10:17, God will remember our sins ____ more.

Hebrews 10:17 KJV 1900
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

4. Psalms 103:12 says that as far as the east is from the west, so far has God ______________ our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103:12 KJV 1900
12 As far as the east is from the west, So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

When we sin after we are saved, it does not affect

our relationship to God, but our fellowship.

5. 1 John 1:9 says that when we ______________ our sins, God will forgive us and cleanse us.

1 John 1:9 KJV 1900
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

relationship = “the state of being related  to someone”

fellowship = “the state of being able to communicate

or to share in common with someone”

Illustration: If a wife burns the supper in the oven, does that mean that the marriage relationship is broken? No, of course not. She has made a mistake which may harm their fellowship, their communication, that evening, but it certainly would not end their relationship.

If a husband forgets to bring home something to his wife on their wedding anniversary, does that mean that they are no longer married? No, of course not. But that mistake will probably cost him some fellowship, some communication with his wife, until he apologizes.

In the same way, when we sin after we are saved, it does

not affect our relationship with God, but our fellowship.

We do not lose our salvation, but we lose the ability to

communicate with God until we confess our sin.

6. Psalm 66:18 says that if we regard sin in our hearts, then the Lord will not ________ us when we pray.

Psalm 66:18 KJV 1900
18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear me:

Note: To keep a marriage running smoothly, mates must be willing to apologize when they do something wrong; otherwise, they will soon quit speaking to each other. Even so, if we want God to hear our prayers — if we want to have communication with Him, then we must be willing to confess our sins to Him.

B. You can never lose your salvation because of Jesus’ promise.

1. In John 6:37, Jesus says that those who come to Him, He will in no wise (for no reason) cast ______.

John 6:37 KJV 1900
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

2. John 10:28 shows that saved people are in Jesus’ hand, and that they can __________ perish, nor can any person pluck them ______ of His hand.

John 10:28 KJV 1900
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

3. According to the next verse, they are also in the Father’s hand, and no person is able to pluck them ______ of His hand. John 10:29

John 10:29 KJV 1900
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

The picture is given that we are safely in Jesus’ hand,

and that no one can ever hope to break His strong grip

upon us. Then, outside of His hand is pictured the

Father’s hand. And no one can break His grip,

for He is greater than all. No one, not even the

devil, can break open God’s hand and cause

us to fall out and lose our salvation.

4. Romans 10:13 says that whosoever calls upon the Lord to save them, __________ be saved.

Romans 10:13 KJV 1900
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Note: You can never go forward in the Christian life, until you know for sure that you are saved, and that Jesus will never forsake you. That verse did not say “might be saved” — it said “shall be saved”.

Questions:

How The Bible Says You Can Be Saved

1. Do you realize that you have sinned? (Rom. 3:23) (I John 1:8)

Romans 3:23 KJV 1900
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
1 John 1:8 KJV 1900
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

2. Do you realize the penalty for your sin? (Rom. 6:23)

Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

3. Do you realize that if you die in your sin, you will go to hell?  (Psa. 9:17) (Prov. 15:24) (Luke 12:4,5)

Psalm 9:17 KJV 1900
17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.

4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
Luke 12:5 KJV 1900
5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

4. Do you realize that the Lord Jesus Christ paid that death penalty for you? (Rom. 5:8) (I Pet. 3:18) (I Pet. 2:24)

Romans 5:8 KJV 1900
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
1 Peter 3:18 KJV 1900
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
1 Peter 2:24 KJV 1900
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

5. Do you realize that it is only through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that you can be saved, and not through any good works of your own? (I John 1:7) (I Pet. 1:18,19) (Eph. 2:8,9) (Titus 3:5-7)

1 John 1:7 KJV 1900
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1 Peter 1:18 KJV 1900
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
1 Peter 1:19 KJV 1900
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
Ephesians 2:8 KJV 1900
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9 KJV 1900
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Titus 3:5–7 KJV 1900
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

6. Do you realize that after Jesus died for your sins, He arose victorious from the grave the third day, proving that His sacrifice was sufficient to pay for all of the sins of the whole world? (I Cor. 15:1-4)

1 Corinthians 15:1–4 KJV 1900
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

7. Do you realize that to be saved you must repent (you must have the desire to turn from your sin and false beliefs, and for the Lord Jesus Christ to cleanse you from all your sin)? (Luke 13:3) (Acts 3:19) (Acts 26:20)

Luke 13:3 KJV 1900
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Acts 3:19 KJV 1900
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Acts 26:20 KJV 1900
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

8. Do you realize that after you get saved, God’s first command for you is for you to get baptized and then to live for Him?  (Acts 2:41) (II Cor. 5:17)

Acts 2:41 KJV 1900
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV 1900
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

9. Are you ready to now pray and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins, and to save you? (John 1:12) (Rom. 10:13) (I John 5:13)

John 1:12 KJV 1900
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Romans 10:13 KJV 1900
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
1 John 5:13 KJV 1900
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

* If you are, then bow your head right now and confess to God that you are a sinner deserving judgment. Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins, and to save you. Ask Him to cleanse your life, and to give you the power to live for Him. Ask Him to lead you to a good, Bible-preaching church, where you can follow the first command after salvation — that of getting baptized and publicly confessing your faith in Him. Ask Him to help you find some good Christian friends to encourage you in the faith and to help you grow.
