Are You The Messiah?

John 10:22 AV

And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

Between v 21-21 two months have passed

John 7:1–2 AV

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. Now the Jews’ feast of tabernacles was at hand.

Aprox 4 months from Passover when Jesus was crucified

John 10:23 AV

And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.

So here again comes the leaders of Jerusalem

the pastors of the Jews

and again they are here to...

Blame Jesus

John 10:24 AV

Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

They want to find fault

if they can get Him to say He is the Messiah. they can turn Him over to the Romans for punishment

or stone Him themselves

They want to blame Jesus for refusing to believe in Him

Like Adam

God told Adam you can eat of any tree, bush, root, everywhere

But not of this one tree

so Adam ate anyway, then blamed the woman God gave him’ and God

Genesis 3:12 AV

And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

Here these men are doing the same thing

we don’t have much longer to live

How long are you going to keep us in suspense?

Tell us plainly are you the Christ?

Jesus’ answer...

John 10:25 AV

Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

How much plainer can Jesus be?

all the miracles? casting out demons? feeding the 15000

calming the storm, healing the sick, the bling can see

John calls miracles - signs pointing to Jesus as Christ

Everything has been done by God the Father, through Jesus.

And all of these things witness loudly that Jesus is God

The same can be said about us today...

Romans 1:19–23 NKJV

because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

all of the miracles / signs point to believing in Jesus

John 20:31 AV

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

But...

They Did Not Believe

John 10:25–26 AV

Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

the signs you are doing are not clear enough

there ought to be a skywriter with a big arrow pointing to you

evolution— we chose to believe in evolution instead of a creator

news- they found the skeleton of the whale that evolved into a deer???

lets think about this for a while over millions of years tis fish evolved to having legs, soo in the process did it live in the water not being able to swim, or live on land not being able to walk

so I chose to believe in this instead of a divine thoughtful creator

I don’t want to believe

Speak plainly they say

all this evidence is not good enough

I don’t want to believe and I’ll blame Jesus

Saved By Grace

Ephesians 2:8–9 AV

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

we cannot be saved by deciding for Jesus

giving Jesus our life

saying a prayer

deciding to follow Jesus

Try Jesus

all these things are works that we can boast about

then you see people dropping from the faith because the works was to hard

they tried Jesus and it did not work for them

By Grace we are saved/ God does all the work of salvation

God gives us grace something we don’t deserve

Unconditional Election

Limited Atonement

Irresistible Grace

Perseverance of the Saints

lets look at what Jesus said about this subject...

John 10:26 AV

But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

you believe not - totally depraved, incapable of believing

man is in complete ruin spiritually, in sin

and Gods perfect remedy, --to those He called

we are dead spiritually

Ephesians 2:1 NKJV

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

these men are still dead— why..

Because you are not my sheep

this is a blow to their pride, intellect, self righteousness

Jesus said already to them..

John 6:65 AV

And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Jesus knows His Sheep (Ginosko)

an intimate relationship

The foreknowledge of God PRO-GINOSKO

to know beforehand

Joseph did not know his wife

Matthew 1:25 AV

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Jesus not knowing them --who call themselves followers

--who call themselves workers for Jesus

Matthew 7:22–23 AV

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Because Jesus Knows/ ginosko them

They hear his voice = follows

How can they hear? - because The Holy Spirit opened their ears

took the blinders off so they can see the Savior

Made them alive spiritually

John 16:7–8 AV

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

so lets look at what Jesus says about The Doctrines of Grace

John 10:26–29 AV

But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

God does all the work

The Father Gave to Jesus, His sheep

They follow because they now can hear His voice

They are given eternal life

They will never lose their salvation

Nor can Satan take them back
