I’VE GOT IT
There are three words I want to share this morning:
NEW
DRUNK
HEAR

Genesis 2:20-22 (NKJV) So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.

SO -- right there inside of ADAM was something NEW -- ADAM HAD EVE INSIDE OF HIM -- Until GOD pulled her out
GOD has placed GIFTS within every one of us and wants to pull them out for our abundant living -- QUIT doubting & fighting Him

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP) Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

NEW NEW NEW CREATION -- NOW CHECK THIS OUT

Philippians 1:6 (AMP) And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

NOW HAS ANYONE HEARD OF NOAH?
1.Noah heard the Voice of God
2 Obeyed God’s Voice by building a boat
3 Saved his family and animals
4 Then the boat fnally landed after many days
5 God sent a wind to dry things up
6 Noah plants a vineyard -- which takes a while to grow
7 And Noah uses the FRUIT TO GET DRUNK & NAKED
NOAH THOUGHT HIS USE WAS OVER AND JUST GOT NUMB!!!!

Ephesians 5:18 (TLB) Don’t drink too much wine, for many evils lie along that path; be filled instead with the Holy Spirit and controlled by him.

God’s desire is that we remain strong -- fully charged, and He makes that possible for us. We must continually come to God to be refilled with the Holy Spirit.

GOD’S DESIRE IS THAT WE REMAIN FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

WE NEED TO PERSONALLY EXPERIENCE THE SPIRIT! It is not enough to say, I believe. . .; we must EXPERIENCE what we believe.
As a church, as individual believers, we are not Pentecostal because of what we believe; WE ARE PENTECOSTAL BECAUSE OF OUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT!
GOD’S DESIRE IS THAT WE REMAIN FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
4 STATEMENTS I WANT TO MAKE

That Means That The Baptism In The Holy Spirit Must Be More Than Just What We Believe; It Must Be A Personal Experience.

If You Have Not Received The Baptism In The Holy Spirit, Then Don’t Be Satisfied; Get Thirsty. God Wants You To Be Filled; Get Desperate For God To Fill You!

The Baptism In The Holy Spirit, Or Being Filled With The Spirit Is Not A One-Time Experience, But A Lifestyle.

The Baptism In The Holy Spirit Is Not An Event; It Is A Lifestyle. We Continually Draw Strength And Life From The Holy Spirit; Apart From The Holy Spirit We Have No Strength Or Spiritual Vitality.

1 Corinthians 14:4 A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally in the Lord. (NLT) edifies himself (NIV)

PETER was filled with the Holy Spirit along with the other 120 believers in Acts 2. However, Peter did not try to live the rest of his life on that one experience. In Acts 4 Peter and the other believers were again filled with the Holy Spirit.
STEPHEN was filled with the Holy Spirit before he was selected to serve the church as a deacon in Acts 6. Again, Stephen didn’t go through his life with one filling. Luke tells us in Acts 7 that even as he was being stoned Stephen was full of the Holy Spirit.
PAUL didn’t try to serve the Lord without being re-energized and filled continually with the power of the Holy Spirit. Paul said,

1 Corinthians 14:18 NLTI thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you

Living a lifestyle of being continuously filled with the Spirit means that
YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE SPIRIT. --
YOU HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT IS SAYING TO YOU
-- That’s the Spirit-filled life!
When You Are Baptized In The Spirit And Begin To Speak In Other Tongues You Yield Control Of Your Tongue To The Holy Spirit. In The Same Way You Live A Spirit-Filled Life By Allowing The Holy Spirit To Control And Direct Your Life With Every Step You Take.

· Your WALK In Life is Different

· Your TALK In Life is Different

· Your PURPOSE In Life is Different

On the day of Pentecost – AFTER the people were Filled & Baptized in the Holy Spirit – the people in town HEARD & SAW Something different in those UPPER ROOM PEOPLE!

Galatians 5:16 (MSG) My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness.

SO HOW DO WE OVERCOME THE PULL OF BEING DRUNK & NUMB ON THIS WORLD
HOW DO WE HEAR THE HOLY SPIRIT DAILY FOR OUR LIVES

1 Corinthians 14:15 I will pray in the spirit, and I will pray in words I understand. I will sing in the spirit, and I will sing in words I understand. (NLT)

Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. (NIV)

Galatians 5:25 (MSG) Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives.
