Introduction:
What is the motivation to present anything to the Lord? What basis are we to present our bodies? The apostle Paul uses a very tender word in order to motivate us. He says that I along side you and put his arm around you so that he may plead, so you can be bless. Make it presentable by giving the whole. Make it presentable by giving it living. Make it presentable by giving it holy. Make it presentable by giving it in a acceptable way. I must present my whole body to the Lord because of His mercies. Mercies that looked beyond my faults and saw my needs, mercies that gave me justification instead of justice, mercies that gave me heaven instead of hell, mercies that show me love when I deserved hatred, showed me goodness,

Because of the mercies of God, and the unmerited favor of God, we are compelled to offer a presentable sacrifice, our bodies, to the LORD.

I. GIVE UP A PRESENTABLE SACRIFICE (your body)

that ye present your bodies
As the priest offered a sacrifice to the Lord, we too as a royal priesthood of believers, are to offer up our bodies to the Lord. 1 Cor 6:15
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
Because of the blood of Jesus our souls have been saved. The inner man has been redeemed. But we still have the outer man, the flesh, to contend with. Paul said in Rom 7:18
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh ,) dwelleth no good thing:….
Therefore we must mortify the deeds of the body or flesh.
Rom 6:19
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh : for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Some have been giving their bodies to everything and everyone, God wants you to give it to Him
A. Living Sacrifice- Give your hopes, plans, and everything precious to you. Give what you love to the Lord. (Abraham/son)

II. Purified Sacrifice

separated, blameless, the best for the service of God. Give God your best. (Malachi)
Romans 12:1 NKJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

III. Proper Sacrifice

Romans 12:1 NKJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
The heart in which it is given. Is it done with love? (Ps 51:16-17)
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
You must offer the living, holy, acceptable body to God because
1 Cor 6:19-20
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
II. Give your Mind
2 And be not conformed to this world:
The world conformed here means outward expression that does not come from within (Be not fashioned with the age). As Christians we must block the outside influences of the world. We are allowing the present age to conform us. We are to be the change agents. We should be changing the world to us, not the other way around. What we believe, think, feel, and desire to be is outwardly motivated.
Raise our children, believe about abortion, believe about homosexuality, fornication, what we what to be, what success is
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
The word transformed means change on the outward that comes from within. Our English word metamorphosis. The caterpillar is a great example.
2 Cor 4:16
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
Eph 4:23
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Col 3:10
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
That is why King David said in Ps 119:11
Thy word I have hid in my heart
As the word becomes a part of you, your thinking change, your feelings change, your will changes, and you become what God intended.
Lastly you must give you body and your mind that you may prove.
I don’t know about you but I am going to give it up to him. I going to give my
Hands, eyes, ears, voice, feet, mind (think on those things that are pure, lovely
1 Peter 2:5
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
