They don’t preach about Jesus.

10 Reasons People Come To Church Even If They Don’t Feel Like it:
10 Reasons People Come To Church Even If They Don’t Feel Like it:
To Hear the Preaching of the Word.
If the word of God is quick, powerful, and sharper than a twoedged sword .
Hebrews 14:12
King James Version Chapter 4
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Then hearing the preaching of Scripture is vital to your spiritual well-being.
Watching preachers on TV is often how people justify giving up on church attendance.
Will a television preacher, visit you if your in the hospital and sick?
Will a television preacher, come visit you at home?
Will a television preacher, kneel with you at the alter and pray with you?
The answers to those questions are “NO!”
You may be listening to good preaching (if they’re discerning),
But without living in close fellowship with real people,
One can never really experience the help and hope Christ offers His bride.
Through faithful involvement in a local church.
While our culture craves entertainment,
God never instructed His ministers to entertain the troops.
Rather He commanded them to preach Truth with urgency.
It is through the preaching of sound doctrine that the Word of God:
Penetrates hearts and transforms livesCalls sinners to repentance.
Encourages the downtrodden.
Inspires the Lord’s servants to love and serve Christ.
Lights the way God would have you go.
To Participate in Congregational Worship.
Worshiping God alone is wonderful,
But nothing can replace the beauty of coming together as a congregation,
To worship Him with others who also have His Spirit in them through the redeeming work of salvation.
Because Iron Sharpens Iron.
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Meeting regularly with other believers is a source of encouragement and strength.
But know this: when iron rubs against iron,
not only does it become sharper, it also causes sparks! It’s just part of the process.
To Exercise Your Gift.
From preaching to encouraging,
Hospitality to administration,
God equips His children with gifts to serve Christ.
When a church body is healthy,
Its members realize they are part of the congregation not only to receive but also to be a blessing.
To Find Godly Mentors.
In the church you’ll discover many people who have walked the road ahead of you.
Their wisdom, insights, and even vulnerability to teach you from their mistakes is one way God provides to help you grow.
Titus chapter 2 is a great place to learn how much God values mentorship.
It is His plan for the older men and women to come alongside of the younger to train them in godliness, and guide them toward building a life of no regrets.
To Teach Your Kids to Love the Church.
Many times parents would drop off their student asking us to “fix them.”
Often the parents grew up in church but walked away after they grew up.
Most never really had a relationship with Jesus.
However, when their own kids were at risk, it was to the church they often returned.
But they usually didn’t come themselves. Rather, they dropped their kids off in hopes the “good” would rub off on them.
To be a Light to Your Community
Jesus said the world will know we are His disciples by our love for one another,
So of course Satan wants to destroy any sense of love and community in the body of Christ.
When you commit to loving God and loving others,
The light shining from your Christ-honoring love is what the Spirit can use to draw others to know Jesus.
To Bear Each Other's Burdens
2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Life can be hard, right? In a moment everything can change.
Just when things are going great, a phone call, diagnosis, or a host of other mishaps can leave you feeling afraid and alone.
But to those who are a part of a church family never feel alone.
When life is going great, they have the affirmation of others. And when life throws a curve, they’re blessed by loving concern, support, and prayer.
Because God Says To.
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
I don’t think the writer of Hebrews could make any more clear “God’s desire to have you regularly assemble together with His people.”
Realize that God wanting you to regularly attend church is for your good.
He wants you, and His people, too exhort one another especially as the days grow darker and the time of Christ’s return approaches.
Having friends/family in the congregation.
We see this issue to be so important that we created a ministry Inviting others to an attitude of inviting.
Those same connections play a crucial role in the assimilation process in the church as well.
The real reason why people should go to church.
The real reason why people should go to church.
A. To Seek God:
There are genuine seekers of God, who come to the church because they feel that it is the right place to meet with God.
They come with contrite hearts; they are ready to do whatever would bring them into a better fellowship with their maker.
They listen to what the pastor says, compare it with the scripture, and allow it to impart their lives positively.
Their primary reason for being there is because they need a change in their lives.
The Purpose Of Door to Door Evangelizm:
Bring Christ to people, by witnessing and sharing the Gospel.
To promote your church by inviting people to come to visit your church.
Church Growth
To show people that we care about the community and it’s needs.
Pray for the needs of others
Overview:
The team decides on the areas to be visited. At the beginning, we suggest that you pick a neighborhood that is at the edge of your church boundaries. Then work your way toward the church.
Visit only residences (not businesses).
The leader of the team does all of the talking. The resident may feel overwhelmed if they have to talk to two people at the same time.
The silent member of the team listens and prays quietly. Pay attention to what’s going on, but pray quietly.
The script should be kept brief and to the point of the visit.
The team keeps track of their progress. Keep track of the responses e.g., answered opened doors, different types of responses, revisits, etc.
The team notes which homes should be revisited and why. These notes will be used when you revisit them so they need to be clear and complete.
Preparation:
Prepare a map of the area you will be visiting. Make one to fit your needs.
Color in the streets you have visited already after each outing.
Use a tracking sheet to record your results.
Evangelization:
Pray before you start. Ask the Holy Spirit to quiet your hearts, guide your steps, and give you the words that need to be spoken (no more and no less).
b. Pray between homes.
c. Pray after the evangelization outing to give thanks.
Scripts:
Follow this communication flow for the introduction to all households.
Once the bell is rung and the party residing opens the door,
Immediately smile, make eye contact and respond with a friendly greeting.
Then start with, “Hi, My name is ( insert your name and partners name).
We are from (Insert your churches name) and we are visiting the neighborhood welcoming people to come and visit our church.”
After this introduction, pause and smile to communicate that you are not selling anything or asking for a donation.
This will also create a friendly atmosphere. Pausing and smiling are non-verbal cues for the resident to respond. (Watch their Body Language).
Be prepared to meet all types of (denominations and beliefs) in each household you visit.
Begin by asking if they attend church anywhere and if they are active in church?
If the indication is that they do attend services every Sunday, tell them, “that’s great to hear!”
Tell them that, “your not out trying to take or steal people away from their church!”
Tell them that, You are just out visiting the neighborhood telling folks about the exciting things going on at (Insert your church name).”
Be aware that you may not know all the answers to every question asked.
Politely respond “That is a good question however;
I do not know the answer but I will find out the answer and get back with you soon.”
Be prepared to ask them if there are any questions that we might answer about your church? (Insert your churches name) prior to departing.
Finally ask if them, “If you could leave them with some information about your church?”
, i.e., brochure, track, flyer bookmark, CD.
It is likely that by offering these things in this way, people will be more willing to accept them.
If the person is a fallen-away church.
politely attempt to find the reason why and length of time away.
Be aware that sometimes people are hurting and may respond to that question in a hostile manner.
If so, be empathetic. (Showing an ability to understand and share the feelings of another)
Before leaving ask if there is anything that they would like us to pray for them about?
Be prepared to pray spontaneously.
Ask them, “If they will allow you to add their name or request to the churches prayer list?”
Then pray for them.
If there is no answer at the door.
Always leave a church business card or brochure.
A church flyer giving up coming events.
To invite them to a church event.
If they are a candidate for a revisit.
ask, “if it would be okay to revisit them?”
Accept a “NO as NO”
Don’t pressing them any further.
If appropriate ask for a phone number or email so you can follow up with them on any questions they may have asked.
