(Gal 2:20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Intro:
We’ve heard the terms “Jesus freaks”, “sold out for Christ”, and “Holy Rollers”. These are the terms I used to call Christians in ignorance of the life Christ offered them. I was blinded by my own self-indulgence of trying to better myself without religion. I felt I was wise enough to reach success in life without Christ. I completely missed the point of everything I was looking for was found in the very thing I was mocking. Now the life I once mocked, is the life I now live. What made me change? It’s the life He NOW offers you!
A. The life I used to live.
1. I trusted in my own way of doing things. The way I was brought up and the experiences that I had formed the thought process that I operated by. It formed my way of life.
2. I live in a lifestyle of frustration and aggravation. I was always expecting a different result by doing the same thing.
A. The life Jesus gives is one of abundance.
(Joh 10:10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
1. The life Jesus promises, is a life full of abundance; health, wealth, prosperity in all areas of our lives. We are given eternal life, a life that transcends time itself.
2. We are promised a place prepared for us in heaven.
B. The life I know live.
1. No longer do I trust in myself. My trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ.
a. Putting our faith in Jesus causes a renewing of the mind (Rom.12:2; Phil.2:5). Your way of thinking begins to change as you follow the Lord Jesus and His Word.
2. Everything is done His way. According to His plans and purposes for your life.
a. This brings a fulfillment to your life.
b. The Lord will direct your steps in every circumstance of life.
3. All my needs are met through Him according to (Phil. 4:19).
4. A life of joy, faith, peace, and hopefulness is the life I live in Christ now. A life full of abundance.
C. The life that’s available in Jesus Christ.
1. Jesus offers us a greater life in Him.
a. A life of abundance, an eternal life, a life of continual fellowship with God.
2. Jesus offers a life of faith, peace, joy, dependence on Him.
3. We have the promise of the Holy Spirit, the very spirit of God to live inside of us. To lead and guide us into all the truth.
D. Christ His life so you can have it.
1. Repent of your sins.
a. Repent means to turn from one thing to another. We are to turn from our sins and turn to God.
2. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised from the dead 3 days later.
3. (Rom 10:9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Conclusion:
Jesus came to this earth to save mankind, you and me. He gave His life a ransom for ours. It is up to us to choose the life that He offers us. Jesus came to set us free from our old life. Let’s walk in the newness of life that He purchased with His own blood.
