The Ministry of Angels in the New Testament Church

Warning this lecture does not intend to teach on worshiping of Angels, but to help to have the knowledge of angels according to the bible teachings.

Who are Angels?

Angels are parts of spiritual beings that are sent and use of God.

why are they not to be worshipped

Angels are inferior to Jesus Christ Heb 1:5-13
Angels have specific yet limited roles to play in declaring God’s will and purposes for humanity.

The Assignment of the Angels

Angels as agents of God’s salvation

Difference between the Holy Spirit and the Angels

Although both of them arre in operation in the old testament, but most of the time the Angels are more commonly sent a
Holy Spirit
He is God
He is part of the triune God
Holy Spirit can be in multi places Psa 139:7
Angels
They are not God or gods that the bible is talking about.
They are for a special assignment
They are more prominent because the Holy Spirit has not filled the believer because then it was a promise to the common Joel 2:28.
God can do things without the presence of some Angels.
Angels can only be in a place at a time. Dan 10:13
Angels can be resisted - Dan 10:13 Gabriel was resisted - Michael help
Angels can be restricted. God banish the devil one-time arch-angel from living in heaven Jud 1:6
Angels can be misrepresented 2Cor 11:14
Angels can be helped by God or other angels
Angels authority can be withdrawn Jud 1:6

Natures of the Angels

Acts 10: 3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. 4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

Occurrences of their Ministry in the New Testament

The same thing happens with Acts 10:3-6 and Cornelius get saved. Angels are not limited in who they can appear to. Cornelius saw an angel before becoming a Christian.
Acts 16:25-34 records another release from jail for Paul and Silas, although an angel is not mentioned you can see the finger marks of one all over the place.
