Genesis 19:12-17

Genesis 19:12–17 NKJV

12 Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city—take them out of this place! 13 For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.” 14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, “Get up, get out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking. 15 When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, “Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.” 16 And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.”

Get up! Get up! Run for your Life!

Last week week, we talked about telling the truth, but living a lie. Its possible to speak and tell the truth and but still be living a lie. Today I challenge all who hear the word and know, it to be the truth, and do not respond, make the right choice. God is watching. God is listening to what you say you are and what you live like. God will hold you accountable for what you have agreed to do for him.

The story of many beginnings, from the creation to the origin of the people of Israel.

With story like the flood, tower of Babel, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the lives of the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

You first need to make a choice. God or The World.

The Bible says there is a created world, that started in Genesis. God mad the world and everything in it. Acts 12:24

2. Second there are the inhabitants of the world, whom God love and Christ died for. For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son. John 3:16

3. There is the cosmos, the world system, which is headed by satan and based upon self, greed, and pride. This is the world the God warns about, it is the world system and philosophy that the church and the people of God are shun and remain free from.

4. This is what we see ruling the action of the government. Some call it the man, some call it the power that be, some call it the Devil, some say it the Illuminati. This is who who hold all the worldly power that will soon be cut down.

This is why people are marching, protesting in out nation’s streets. This is why we are on stay at home orders, with an invisible virus. This is the same this that we can’t see, yet we are truly afraid of. You can see it but you believe its real. The bible has been telling us to believe and have faith, we can’t see him, yet we don’t change anything we do because of the word of God. God is watching church in a time like this.

James 4:4 If you want to be a friend of the world, makes himself an enemy of God. You can’t do both. The world id full of fake friend already. God says I don’t want no fake friends.

John 15:18 If the world( the system, the powers that be, the powerful, the rich) hated me, then they will surely hate you.

The world has its own entertainment and diversions that makes going to church and living a Godly life, seem irrelevant and useless. In much of the media and entertainment of the world (cosmos) the name of God is profaned, sex is glamorized and living a live fill with the world of God is laughed at.

The world say you have to abuse your body to to relax your mind. When did sleeping with random people become a way of coping with life. The world told you that drugs were the way to deal with life’s struggles. The bible tells us we will have struggles, but we don;t know what the bible says the answer is to all of our questions. The bible says in Psalms 16:11 in your presence is the fullness of Joy.

Its not in the beer bottle, its not in the drugs, pain pills, reckless sexual encounters. Joy, peace, love is not found in a career, its not found in a mate, its not found in car, cash , and castles. Only in the love of God is it found. That is why we go to church, cause we are pursuing the same thing you are, we want purpose, we want meaning, we have a desire to be happy. The bible says that God will give you the desires of your heart, if you seek 1st his kingdom and the right standing, the right relationship.

Don’t be fooled by liars in the church or the liars in the world. Because the time is coming. its starts with a choice today. you can’t hear the word and not respond. When you leave here today you are making a choice even if you don’t know it.

You may be saying, I still have time. You just made a choice. I have heard what God thinks but I will do it tomorrow.

Human delay is often the result of fear, indecision or disobedience to God. Scripture indicates that delay is to be avoided.

Believers are not to delay in fulfilling their vows to God and obligations to others

Ecclesiastes 5:4 (LEB) — 4 When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for he takes no pleasure in fools. Fulfill what you vow!

Deuteronomy 23:21 (LEB) — 21 “When you make a vow to Yahweh your God, you shall not postpone fulfillment of it, for certainly Yahweh your God shall require it from you and if postponed you will incur guilt.

Psalm 61:8 (LEB) — 8 So I will sing the praise of your name forever, that I may fulfill my vows daily.

If you can’t keep your word to man or God, then you are a liar and the truth ain’t in you.

God shows that he has compassion on his people.

Why did the angles come to Lot?

Abraham was a friend of God. V/V 20 in chapter 18 The out cry of against Sodom and Gomorrah is immense, and their sin is extremely serious. 21 I will go down and see if what they have done justifies the cry that has come up to me., If not I will find out.

Abraham is a true friend of God, cause listen to the conversation between God and his friend Abraham.

50 people, I know what you said, I know you are God BUT

45 people, I know what you said, I know you are God BUT

40 people, I know what you said, I know you are God BUT, friend!

30, 20, 10. This brother, must have know what was happening in the city down the road.

God will show his wrath, and the only people who will be safe are the one who can forsake the thing of this world and worldly living, for righteous living.

People who are not able to leave a life of destruction for a life with God's protection and love. What will you when God's judgement comes on the world around you will you be saved.

The same sin condition that the people of Sodom, had is the same sin condition that we face in the world today.

God expect his people to be different than the normal.

God will expect us to make a choice to leave comfortably for him. We should be able to discontinue the life style of the world and be transformed into the image of God.

Only the grace of God and the resurrection of Jesus can afford us the opportunity to be at peace with the Father.

Its in the confession of Christ that we began to live a life for God even when the world around us is falling into destruction.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.

God wants people who are willing to live in the world, but not of the world. Those will be saved.

The angles met Lot at the Gates of the city, the place where Lot met the angles says more about who Lot was than what type of city Sodom and Gomorrah. The city gates are just like the temple or synagogue is in the new testament. See before the foundation of the church, the place that the important people met was a the the city gates. So for lat was there he must have been somebody in the community.

1. God will leave it to you to go get your family. Genesis 18:19 Genesis 19:12

2. who in your house needs to be saved. If you represent God in your house, why are you the only one?

Maybe your family think you joking.

They think its a joke because you think its a joke.

v/v 15 again the angle had to tell Lot, get you and your people out.

v/v 16 But when he lingered. You still playing church, so how are the people around going to take it serious.

That’s why it is so important to live what we talk about at church.

3. If you believe then you have to stop asking.

Lot is the man, he is the head. He not too sure they had to grab him and his wife and 2 girls. MEN, they ain't going until we go.

When God delivers you out, don't stop running, don't look back RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. The world means you no good.

Where will you be when God's judgement comes on the world around you? will you be saved? Will your loved ones be saved?

Get up! Get up! Run for your life!

Can you leave your life in the world for a life in the Kingdom?

. Now that you know its your responsibility to grab your family by the hand and get them out of the world. Get out! run for your life. even if they don't want to go, head for the mountains. Its a safe place.

2. You can not delay in moving or getting out, you have to listen to the word and Get up!

3. I know it hard, I know its ALL YOU HAVE EVER DONE, but you can't look back.

4. If you are saved, you love the Lord. God is holding YOU and the church, responsible.

The angle tells them to run to the mountains, I did not find this in anyone’s commentary. The church are the only mountains, i see we can run to for protection. The church is protection. The church will be found spotless, Jesus is coming back to the church, we know the church is not the building. So if God is coming to get the church and the church are the people ,will yo and your family be in the number of people who will reign with God as He coming back for the people who make up the church? Come back to church, there is a place for you at the church, there is purpose for yo at the church, there is love for you at the church.

For all the people we know (family & friends) who are not save, God will hold us accountable for the people he places us around, The community our churches are in God will hold us accountable, not just the Pastor, not just the deacons, not just the choir, no just the mother board. All of us will have to answer.

When God comes back and the church looks just like the world, then he can not save the church and destroy the system, that have found itself in our churches.

Matthew 25:31

Matthew 25:31–46 LEB

31 Now when the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 And all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate them from one another like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right and the goats on the left. 34 Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world! 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me as a guest, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you cared for me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you as a guest, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’ 40 And the king will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me.’ 41 Then he will also say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed ones, into the eternal fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels! 42 For I was hungry and you did not give me anything to eat, I was thirsty and you did not give me anything to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me as a guest, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not care for me.’ 44 Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and not serve you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly I say to you, in as much as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will depart into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
