How Do we Walk by Faith?

What is Faith?

Faith is the confidence or trust in a person, thing, or concept.

conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher)

My Favorite Scripture definition of Faith

Heb.11.1

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen

Heb.11.6 goes on to set the record straight that without faith it is impossible to please God:

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him

Now, how do we do we walk with faith in the face of adversity, challenges, road blocks that are found along our path:

Remembering

Standing on the promises God has made

looking back on the examples of God’s greatness

Understand he will display this same steadfastness in the midst of your challenge

Repenting

Turning away from acts that stand between you and God

doing so stops the enemy from being able to cause doubt in God’s ability to carry you through

Studying

Our faith grows and strengthens by spending time in his word

Ro.10.17 says:

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
