CROSSING GOD’S LINE
CROSSING GOD’S LINE
INTRODUCTION:
God's patience many times wears out:
With saints
It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
With sinners
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
GOD IS LONGSUFFERING
II Peter 3:9, 15, 6:3 God suffered long in the Days of Noah, Lot, Pharaoh, Israelites—Heb. 3, Jews—70A.D.—Matt. 22 God suffers long today. God's Spirit strives with men.—John 16:8 God's patience wears out.—Genesis 6:3
GOD GIVES SPACE TO REPENT
God gave Cain space to repent. Jezebel space to repent. Rev. 2:20,21. King Herod space to repent. Acts 12:23 Jews space to repent. Luke 13:34-35 Churches space to repent. Rev. 2:3
A. GOD'S PATIENCE DOES WEAR OUT
1. God's Patience wore out with
2. The old world. Sodom and Gomorrah.
3. Pharaoh and Egyptian Nation.
4. Jewish Nation
He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
B. God's patience wears out today With Nations
The wicked shall be turned into hell,
And all the nations that forget God.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
With individuals
Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GOD'S PATIENCE WEARS OUT?
1. A horror of blindness comes over you.
It came over whole Jewish race.
But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2. God's Spirit is withdrawn.
And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Hos. 5:6
Be given up by God and Heaven.
Sudden destruction may come when God's spirit is withdrawn.
He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck,
Shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
