6 Men Set Apart to God From Birth:
1 Samson (Judg. 13:2-25)
2 Samuel (1 Sam. 1:17-19, 27-28)
3 Jeremiah (Jer. 1:5-10)
4 John the Baptist (Lk. 1:15-17)
5 Jesus Christ (Mt. 1:18-25)
6 Paul (Gal. 1:15-16)
Jeremiah 1:5 NASB95
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
We, too, have been formed (created by God),
known (known of God),
sanctified (by the blood of the Savior) and
ordained (given the Great Commission (see Mark 16:15; see also Galatians 1:15).
Psalm 139:13–14 NASB95
13 For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.
The pesky housefly is superior to any bird, bat, or bee. According to a British scientist, “a housefly can make six turns a second, hover, fly straight up, fly straight down, fly backwards, do somersaults, land on the ceiling, and perform various other show-off maneuvers. And it has a brain smaller than a sesame seed.”
Flies are also loaded with sensors. In addition to their compound eyes, which permit panoramic imagery and are excellent at detecting motion, flies have wind-sensitive hairs and antennae. They also have three light sensors, called ocelli, on the tops of their heads, which tell them which way is up. Roughly two-thirds of a fly’s entire nervous system is devoted to processing visual images.
If God put so much wisdom into ordinary houseflies, imagine what it means to know that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
How do you know your own worth?
Do you look to yourself or others in order to grasp your value?
If you look anywhere other than to God—the God who created you with a purpose and a plan—your view of your own value is in grave danger of being distorted. Before you were ever born, God established your real worth by knowing you, by choosing you, and ultimately by dying for you!
So God knew you as he knew Jeremiah, long before you were born or even conceived. He thought about you and planned for you. When you feel discouraged or inadequate, remember that God has always thought of you as valuable and that He has a purpose in mind for you.
Max Lucado said “You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on this earth by the Master Craftsman.”
2) We were created with a assignment in mind. A big part of our assignment is intended to solve problems.
Birds are important to the ecosystem in many ways; they pollinate flowers and disperse seeds.
Ants help keep the environment clean. They act as decomposers by feeding on organic waste, insects or other dead animals.
Bees pollinate a third of the food we eat and 80% of flowering plants. Pollination is crucial because many of our vegetables, fruits and the crops that feed our livestock rely on it to be fertilised, so without it, we could go hungry.
You the answer to someone else’s problem.
Mechanics solve car problems.
Dentists solve tooth problems.
Lawyers solve legal problems.
Mothers solve emotional problems.
Accountants solve tax problems.
Teachers solve knowledge problems.
Pastors solve care problems.
Evangelist solve outreach problems.
Prophets solve spiritual hearing problems.
Apostles solve representation problems.
You are a solution to somebody. This means you are a reward to someone. Somebody needs you. Somebody wants you. You are necessary to somebody.
Moses was needed as a leader to the children of Israel.
David was needed by the Israelites to defeat Goliath. He was a reward to King Saul as well, when he defeated Goliath and routed the Philistines.
Naomi needed a caretaker. Ruth was a reward for her, and so loyal that her devotion was recorded in the Scriptures for people to read of throughout generations.
The Jews would have been destroyed except for Esther. Esther was their answer, their solution, their reward.
Pharaoh desperately needed someone to interpret his dream. Joseph was a reward to him and to the people of Egypt.
Famine would have destroyed the Egyptians. Joseph was the solution because he interpreted the message from God through the dream of Pharaoh.
Everyone that God created has a purpose for someone else to benefit from in some way or another. You have what someone desperately needs. You have gifts that others need. You are the answer to what someone else is praying for.
God placed my wife in my life because she is exactly what I needed. She is is exactly what Ellie needed. I thank God for her every day.
Look for opportunities to heal, strengthen and bless others. Do good every time it is possible. “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it,” (Proverbs 3:27).
Look for ways to tell your neighbors, coworkers, friends, family of the love of Jesus.
3) Your purpose in life is not your decision but your discovery.
I’m not going to tell Ellie she can be whatever she wants to be when she grows up. I’m going to tell her she can be whatever God has called her to be.
God’s plan for your life will require obedience.
Isaiah 1:19–20 NASB95
19 “If you consent and obey, You will eat the best of the land; 20 “But if you refuse and rebel, You will be devoured by the sword.” Truly, the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
When I was in math class.
Maybe your sitting there thinking I wish I knew God’s plan for my life. I’ve asked for years and haven’t recieved anything.
We need to learn how to obey the revealed will of God as well as the concealed will of God. There are 800 commands in the New Testament.
Last thought:
God decides His plan for your life.
You decide your obedience to that plan.
Lets make a commitment to fulling God’s plan for our life.
