Raising A Hallelujah
INTRODUCTION:
As a means of reaching Jesus, the roof was broken up;
This opening is here referred to as—The Open Roof.
JESUS WAS PREACHING IN CAPERNAUM
He was in a house.
His presence was noised abroad.
His fame was spread abroad.
A multitude gathered to hear Him.
ONE WAS BROUGHT BOUND WITH THE PALSY
The sick man was bed-fast.
Mark 2:3 KJV 1900
And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
He could not reach Jesus by himself.
Four men with a vision brought him.
They brought him to be delivered.
THEIR ACCESS TO JESUS WAS CHALLENGED
Their advance was challenged.

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
By the press of the multitude.
By the house filled with people.
These four men would not be stopped.
THEY ENVISIONED A DOORWAY THROUGH THE ROOF
They put forth an unusual effort.

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
Together they worked with a purpose.
They wanted this man to meet Jesus.
They opened the roof and let him down.
THE OPEN ROOF LED TO SALVATION
It was his doorway to Jesus.
It was his doorway to deliverance.
Jesus forgave him of his sins.
Mark 2:5 KJV 1900
When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
Jesus loosed him from palsy.
Mark 2:11–12 KJV 1900
I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
THE OPEN ROOF SIGNIFIED FAITH IN JESUS
Jesus saw their faith. Mark 2:5
Jesus acted upon their faith. v. 5
Jesus loosed the sick with palsy. v. 12
Jesus healed and made him free. vs. 10-12
CONCLUSION:
The man arose and took up his bed before the multitude, and they glorified God, saying, "We never saw it on this fashion"; Mark 2:12
