In the Christian church, we think of Pentecost as the birth of the church, and we tend to focus on the day when the Holy Spirit was poured out on Jesus' followers and tongues of fire danced over their heads. But the festival existed for centuries before, and its purpose and meaning helps us to better understand why the events we remember happened when they did. The legacy of Pentecost is a legacy of evangelism...of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, we've come up with a way to do just that, and to offer some small blessings to people in our community at the same time.
