“The unexamined life is not worth living” - Socrates
a. The things that kept Paul from eternal life were GOOD things, not bad
C. Verse 2
“Dogs” - Orthodox Jews would call Gentiles dogs, now other way around
Bark their false doctrines
“Evil workers” - taught to be saved they would do both faith and good works
“The mutilation” - Circumcision literally means this
In it of itself - circumcision is only mutilation
“Steer clear of the barking dogs, those religious busybodies, all bark and no bite. All they’re interested in is appearances - knife happy circumcisers, I call them.” - Philippians 3:2 The Message
