Why remember Pentecost 2000+ years later? Pentecost is meaningful to us because it has both a past and a future. The Holy Spirit that Jesus sent on the disciples at Pentecost fulfilled His promise to them of "power from on high." For them it was power to preach and teach with His authority, along with visible signs and miracles to confirm the verity of their message. Even more, it was power to recall and know what Jesus had taught so they could write Scripture not from hearsay or tradition but with Divine accuracy. They left us with a Book we can depend on for our salvation. Pentecost also brought to them a guarantee of God's future blessings. Join us as we look into the Scriptures to learn what Pentecost means to us and our faith today.
