God promised Abraham

++Wasn’t to make them a nation

++Was to make him a great nation

++Was to make him a mighty nation

What make a nation great?

2 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

Even after his name was changed

++He have a history

++He had baggage

++He was still called Jacob

Why would God call him Jacob after He changed his name?

Jacob’s name

++Was not only connected to character

++Was connected a birthright

We also come to God with a History
