Anointed Lane?

What lane is God’s anointing on?

Before we run towards the lane that God has anointed us for we must be on the receiving side of His love and healing.

Jesus walked fully in what He was anointed for.

Jesus was The Word and Love in the flesh.

When we walk in what we are anointed for, we stay out of what traps us into a death trap.

God gives us tons of content in His word in the specifics of what we are anointed for.

Isaiah 61:1–2 NASB95

1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners; 2 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,

Anointed For:

good news to the afflicted.

“To bring good news to the afflicted,”

sense: to announce or convey a message of positive information about recent or important events.

synonyms: afflicted, poor, humble, meek.

Afflicted: a person who has been a victim of some pain, injury, or harm, either physically or mentally; often associated with recurring treatment or events.

Humble: knowing what you have came from God.

- Knowing you did not deserve it, but now you do because of Jesus.

Humility often come through some sort of humiliation.

Poor meaning you know you need more then you have.

God is rewarding humility again. He does all throughout Proverbs and the new testament.

Is God apposed to anyone?

1 Peter 5:5 NASB95

5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Pride is a response of control when facing fear.

Pride says I trust my own power more then you God.

bind brokenhearted

“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,”

The sense behind this verse is to bind up and encourage, or to inspire with confidence, give hope to or courage to.

If you bind something then it can heal.

You are anointed to encourage, inspire with confidence and give hope to the brokenhearted.

Activation:

Who feels they may be a brokenhearted one today?

“proclaim liberty to the captive”

“To proclaim liberty to captives”

Captive is someone who was put in captivity unjustly.

Proclaim liberty

Proclaim: to call out, to read aloud, to commission, to be summoned, to be named...

Liberty: Pure, flowing,

- from a root word meaning: to move rapidly

- To be named rabidly.

sense:

liberty = release

captive = confined like a prisoner of war or exile

Let’s apply this to our identity:

If you have been told you are not worthy by life of people, and you tend to believe that. You are captive to a lie.

Of you don’t know the lie you may wrestle with, when you are not acting like your true self,

“What is the story you are telling yourself?”

That story is the lie.

Eve and being told she could be more.

Shame says something is wrong with me. Guilt says I acted outside of who I am and I can adjust.

“freedom to prisoners”

“And the opening of the prison to those who are bound” NKJV

People get into prison by doing something that the punishment is prison.

You steal, you go to prison.

You lie, you go to the prison of mistrust.

You cheat, you go to prison of mistrust.

Prison is often a natural or law enforced consequence of breaking the image we were made in or a law of the land.

It is possible to be captive for a while by others or thoughts and then you become a prisoner because you act on your own out of those beliefs.

Freedom and being in prison you have to be empowered by Grace to get yourself out.

You are anointed to show people the way out by using your life and how Grace empowered you out of prison.

This one has to be the person in prison choosing to exit the open doors. This one is where victims become overcomer.

The parodical son had to return home on his own.

Gideon had to go down to 300 and follow the instructions of God.

David had to strengthen himself in the Lord.

Moses had to speak to the king.

Peter had to choose to die upside down on the cross.

Steven had to say out loud not to hold this against those stoning him.

Paul had to go get prayed for to get his sight back.

The Prison doors are open, but you have to go through those door ways yourself.

You are anointed to show people the way out the way you left that prison yourself.

proclaim year of favor and a day of vengeance our God

“To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord And the day of vengeance of our God.”

Proclaim: to call out, to read aloud, to commission, to be summoned, to be named...

favorable year

Long season of favor of our Lord.

day of vengeance = A short season of painful adjustment.

You are anointed to call out loud a long season of favor and a short season of painful adjustment.

comfort those who mourn

“To comfort all who mourn.”

You are anointed to comfort those who have experienced loss.

Before we build and restore, we need to focus on what we are anointed for.

Anointed For:

good news to the humble

You are anointed for conveying a positive message to the ones who know they need God.

bind brokenhearted

You are anointed to encourage, inspire with confidence and give hope to the brokenhearted.

proclaim liberty to the captive

You are anointed to quickly call others by their true name and release those who are captive to shame or lies.

opening bands or doors to prisoners

You are anointed to show people the way out the way you left that prison yourself.

proclaim year of favor and a day of vengeance our God

You are anointed to call out loud a long season of favor and a short season of painful adjustment.

comfort those who mourn

You are anointed to comfort those who have experienced loss.

Closing:

What lane is God’s anointing on?

We first humble ourselves and come to Jesus with our afflictions. Let Jesus heal your heart from any bitterness and life long afflictions or loss. After you receive that connection and rest run towards this lane of sharing the good news to those afflicted, set the trapped free, lead those who keep falling into their prisons of lies or shame out into freedom, and morn with those who have lost.

Activations:

Are any of you in the room afflicted?

Are any of you in a prison?

Are any of you wrestling with pride and instead you need to admit your affliction?

Are any of you bold enough to see the captive around you and set them free?

Who in your life or in the room has God highlighted to you to move in one or more of these anointed approaches are you to reach out to today.
