David professed quiet confidence in God as his deliverer, but while he waited for rescue he drew hope from the same source. Hope sustains until rescue comes and both are found in the God to whom power and love belongs. As we seek the welfare of our city, let’s not forget our mission to bring hope and salvation through the gospel of Jesus Christ—He himself is our peace! (Ephesians 2:14).
