Intro

So we have seen last couple weeks about His kingdom!
how great, how full of praise, joy, peace, everlasting life!, no pain!
there is many verses about it and the King who is in it!
now that we understand more about His kingdom ....
now you know what Jesus was talking about in
Matthew 6:10 NKJV
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
His kingdom be done on Earth!
What does this mean!
The things that are done in His kingdom can be done on Earth!
we dont have to wait for Heaven to praise
we dont have to wait for Heaven to have joy
we dont have to wait for heaven to have peace
Im going to have one of our Royals come on rn that has been living for His kingdom on Earth.
meanwhile you got believers focused on their problems and the issues of earth.
we need to remember:
Philippians 3:20 NKJV
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Many people are so focused on problems their missing out on God purpose.
to love others is the command of the kingdom
to praise God is the heartbeat within the Kingdom
Now we don’t ignore problems… we love & praise through them.
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
turn your Bibles to 2 Chron 20
in 2 Chronicles 20 .... Judah was surrounded by enemies trying to destroy them...
literally kill them, compare it to whatever we are all facing today:
and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah says this plea to God that is extremely relevant to our time.
2 Chronicles 20:5–13 NKJV
5 Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, 6 and said: “O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? 7 Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever? 8 And they dwell in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, 9 ‘If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save.’ 10 And now, here are the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir—whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and did not destroy them—11 here they are, rewarding us by coming to throw us out of Your possession which You have given us to inherit. 12 O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 13 Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives, and their children, stood before the Lord.
In the midst of their problems and persecutions:
1st they remember who God is. (v.6)
He is the father, God of Heaven, rules over kingdoms, and nations
He is all powerful
He is almighty God
They did this.... as death looked them in the eye
as threats filled their enviroment
they remembered who God is.
instead of freakimg out over the threats and fears, and emies…
2nd they remember what God has done (v.7)
that He has defeated and conquered even more worse things.
teaching nothing is too hard for God…
while the world may be panicking and freaking out.. God is in control He isnt worryed.
If God could save Israel.... and He can save you from your sins He can save you
so our solution is not to look to man, votes, protests for help .... but to God.
He is able, capable, enabled, and unstoppable
3rd they remind God of their faithfulness to Him (v.8)
they tell God what they have done for Him.
and I hope that you have somethings you can tell God that you have done for Him
especially in this time when we have been in the theme of His kingdom
What Jesus has commanded is to love
What Jesus commanded us to do is love,
love your neighbor, love your enemies, love your brothers you sister.
Jesus also has commanded to preach gospel.
Can you say you have been faithful to Him?
4th they remind God of His promises (v.9)
that no matter that the issue is death, famine, Pestllance
Now look God doesnt promise us Heaven on Earth… He doesnt promise a perfect easy life
He doesnt promise no persecution
In fact the opposite He promises..
But He also says that through these things: He will be with us (Mt 28:20, Heb 13:5; John 14:16; Is 41:10)
5th they present to God the issue (v.10-11)
they don’t go to the help of their neighboring nations
or the help of the soldiers
or by begging for mercy.
they go to God!
6th they ask God (v.12)
7th they stand behind God (v.13)
They dont take matters into their own hands...
they get behind God!
I love this the woman, children, it says all the city stands before God.
who had every right to panic
chose to fear God.
What a powerful statement.
Okay so when God’s people get behind God
and note not ahead of God....
amazing things happen
lets look at verse 14
2 Chronicles 20:14 NKJV
14 Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly.
So what happened when all of God’s people got behind God?
the Spirit of God comes upon the leaders.... and alll of the people
A revival takes pace
This is what the church has been wanting...
This what all Christians hope for
Revival didnt come through Israel protesting… or fighting, or voting, or arguing,, or pretending its not there, or complaining,
it came from God’s people in the midst of danger, when destruction seems imminent, when death is knocking at the door
saying “God, here I am use me”
Some of you need to put down your sword, and say God use me
some of you need to quit complaining, and say God use me
Some of you need to quit arguing and say God use me
When that happened we read in verse 15 what God says “
2 Chronicles 20:15 NKJV
15 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
church this battle is not yours it is God’s
Church your not Israel created to fight
Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
you were prepared beforehand for good works
to love
to spread hope
to praise God.
Matthew 6:33 NKJV
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
maybe your like whhhaaaaaaattttttt
Actually you will see in the next verse that fighting and taking matters and problems into your own hands is the cowardly thing to do.
in verse 16-17 we read God gives them direction....
which would someone pray right now that we would do these things that we may receive direction from the Lord
2 Chronicles 20:16–17 NKJV
16 Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. 17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”
so much here!
how bold do you have to be to face your biggest threat, to face the danger that has haunted you the last few days
without a weapon, without a vote, without a arguing, without
just facing it with Jesus with you.
Church Jesus is with you
Whatever your facing and battling Jesus is with you
Maybe you need to drop the sword, the complaining
and realize the power that stands beside you.
you can read verses 18 to the end on your own time
but what you will read
is that alll of Israel surrounded by their enemies … didnt fight, didnt panic, didnt run away
they all bowed down before God.
and it says that they all worshipped God!
and then all of their problems, threats, and fears were eliminated!
and our of their praise came victory.
out of praise comes victory
church what are you battling?
out of praise comes victroy
Seek first His Kingdom!
and all these things will be added!
Dont lose hope,
Our king is high and lifted up!
and He cares for you!
I think some of you need to lay things down.... and start praising God
Luke 22:42 NKJV
42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”
If your not living for His kingdom now what makes you think you will when you die.
if your not praising God now what makes you think that you will when you die?
