The law, which bears witness to the grace of God, points ahead to its fulfilment and climax in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel does not abolish the law, but fulfils it, by allowing it to be seen in its proper light.

The law brings knowledge of human sin and the need for redemption

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

The law points to the coming of Jesus Christ

Galatians 3:24 KJV 1900
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Believers are not justified by works of the law, but through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ
