Introduction and History of Jashobeam
Chronologically, his first mention is in 1 Chronicles 12:1-22. He is listed in the group of men that came to David during the reign of King Saul.
I believe he is from the tribe of Levi, as he seems to be listed as from the family of the Korhites, in 1 Chronicles 12:6, which was the Levite family that was over the works of service in the tabernacle(1 Chronicles 9:19), and later the temple.
This would also be mean that he was a descendent of Korah, the man who defied Moses and was swallowed up by the earth (Numbers 16)
