Let’s Go Bless the Lord
Let’s Go Bless the Lord
As you prepare to meet with the Lord today:
Adore the One who created you.
Confess any wrong thinking or action in your mind or life.
Thank Him for this time of consecration.
Supplication is hard to begin a sentence with. And that one wasnt grammatically correct. But the fourth part of ACTS is to ask God for what you need.
A Song of Ascents.
1 Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord!
2 Lift up your hands to the holy place and bless the Lord!
3 May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who made heaven and earth!
The final psalm of the ascent to the temple in Jerusalem is a call to go in and praise Him! To lift our hands and bless Him with our hearts and voices and giving and surrender.
Lifting hands is a signal of praise in worship. It is also the universal sign of surrender. We do both when we lift our hands to the Lord. For some it is surrendering the notion “I dont lift my hands”. But we are told to in scripture over and over.
The wait is almost over. One more sleep and we’ll get to worship in person together! The anticipation is strong. My emotions well up in me preparing for it.
Those who made the long trip to Jerusalem must have had similar feelings. Even though we no longer look to the temple for worship (John 4:21-23), we have had a long journey back to in-person worship. Praise God the Object of our worship is in the Heavenly Jerusalem (Heb 12). And we look forward to the time we will be with Him forever in the New Jerusalem.
There is much to be thankful for. Much to express to Him in worship. Tomorrow we will do just that TOGETHER!
