Mark 1.1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Gospel means= Good News. The Good News of Jesus, the Son of God.
Why is this news “good”. This is more than an introduction to a Gospel story. It is the perspective of a young man who had watched the Public Ministry of Jesus. A young man who was selected by one of the Chosen, Peter, to accompany Peter on his ministry journey. This is a declarative statement of what Mark had seen, heard and experienced in his Hope seeking days.
A Story of Value, A Story of Gladness, A Story of Hope
A Story of Value, A Story of Gladness, A Story of Hope
Sin has indeed reeked havoc on the human existence and creation. Sometimes the dark and awful facts of human life are in danger of giving an almost gloomy note to the tell of the Gospel. If we are to tell the story, we must as Paul says: “fix our eyes on the author & perfecter of our faith”. the issues of this world are indeed captivating, but we cannot become fixated upon them. What we see is the evidence of why Christ came. Again, Paul saying: Where sin did abound, there grace did MUCH MORE ABOUND! There is a Holy Hope to believe towards. The subject of this good news is a person named Jesus
This is a story of Good news because it has the potential of complete Deliverance from the despair which we see.

Potential is another word Hope. By faith in the potential deliverance we can see a future that has opportunity. We can speak with optimism and CONFIDENCE.

This singling out for a particular task is described in terms of being ‘anointed’, as any king or priest of Old Testament days would have been
