I.                   A Compliment (Hard to Accept)

- We seem to always give more information than required

- When people compliment us they are not looking for an explanation

- Nice Hair Do

-The correct response is Thank You

- You look Nice

-The correct response is Thank You

-You’re losing weight… “…I still got to lose 25lbs…”

II.                Can’t Handle Criticism

-  We hate when someone points out one of our faults

- Although we are so good at it, we do not want to be notified of our faults.

-          We have a PhD in observing the faults in the lives of other people.

-          Jesus said, “…the beam from your own eye...”

-          We hate when others criticize us

-          First thing we do is look at them

-          We find something wrong with them

-          We never stop and here what they just said.  Maybe what they say can help.

-          Our first response, even of it is 100% true, our first response is it is so much wrong with them, they got some kind of nerve to tell me something

·         Attempt to examine criticism honestly

III.             Handle A Blessing

1.       We have a tendency to steal the glory

-          When God does something for you, you ought to start Leaping and Jumping

-          Paul said, “Don’t give us the glory, give it to God.”  When we get a blessing the glory does not belong to us!  The glory goes to God.

-          We can accept the compliment but we cannot accept the praise!

-          We can accept the compliment but we cannot accept the glory!

-          What is the difference?

-          Glory is to illuminate, to magnify to make something look good!!

2. We don’t know it’s alright to say thank you!
