 BELIEVER OR UNBELIEVER TRUTH OR LIE YOU HAVE BELIEVED THE THE TRUTH OR YOU HAVE BELIEVED A LIE What is the truth ? another way who is truth- John 14:5-6 NASB [5] Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?" [6] Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. The way-JESUS is the way or road,his way or road is TRUTH, and the ROAD named JESUS leads to eternal Life- Truth is exclusive. The sum of two plus two is four. No other answer is correct. The number of incorrect answers is unlimited. When someone rejects the truth, the only alternative is to accept something false. There are two Roads you can take, one road leads to the truth, the other road leads to a lie or many lies. They know the truth, but they don't love the truth, When you begin to doubt the truth you begin a journey down the wrong road- Matthew 13:11-15 NASB [11] Jesus answered them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. [12] For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. [13] Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. [14] In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, 'You WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND; YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE; [15] For THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL,WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES, HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.' 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 NASB [7] For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. [8] Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; [9] that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, [10] and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. [11] For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, [12] in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness. Someone who does not like the truth cannot love the source of truth. Psalm 117:2 NASB [2] For His lovingkindness is great toward us, And the truth of the LORD is everlasting. Praise the LORD! Psalm 31:5 NASB [5] Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have ransomed me, O LORD, God of truth. The real battle is this, will you believe the truth, love the truth which leads to true change or will you not believe the truth and take the road that leads to destruction- If you take the road of lies, it's the believers battle, they are in bondage, but they believe they are free- Is it possible to be in bondage, enslaved to someone or something and not know it ? John 8:31-33 NASB [31] So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; [32] and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." [33] They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, 'You will become free'?" Its an amazing statement, they had been in bondage to everyone, they were currently in bondage because they had denied the truth- the truth was standing in front of them. Billboard-dragging chains can cause wildfires- Are your chains gone or are they dragging behind you ? causing wildfires ? Romans 6:16 NASB [16] Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? YOU ARE IN BONDAGE EASILY SEEN BY WHAT OR WHO YOU OBEY. Romans 6:17-18 NASB [17] But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, [18] and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. OBEDIENCE -I BELIVE YOU OBEY WHAT YOU LOVE, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T OBEY ? YOU GET MORE OF WHAT YOU DON'T WANT- hogs and fences-SOME FENCES KEEP THINGS OUT OTHERS KEEP THINGS IN- 2 Timothy 2:26 NASB [26] and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. THEY WERE IN BONDAGE TO A LIE THERE ARE MANY ROADS- THAT DIVERGE INTO ONE ROAD WITH A FORK, ONE LEAD TO LIFE AND ONE LEADS TO DESTRUCTION Matthew 7:13-14 NASB [13] "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. [14] For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. Luke 13:24-30 NASB [24] "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. [25] Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, 'Lord, open up to us!' then He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know where you are from.' [26] Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets'; [27] and He will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.' [28] In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out. [29] And they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God. [30] And behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last." Luke 15:17-24 NASB [17] But when he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger! [18] I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; [19] I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men."' [20] So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. [21] And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' [22] But the father said to his slaves, 'Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; [23] and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; [24] for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.' And they began to celebrate. The boat has an anchor but no rope, BOAT IS YOU, ANCHOR IS JESUS, ROPE IS TRUTH They knew the truth but did not love the truth-
