3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all
likewise perish.
Luke 13:5 KJV 1900
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all

The Definition of
Repentance
Repentance is a subject that needs to be preached
and emphasized by preachers today. We have some
today preaching redemption without repentance
today and that is not the Gospel Jesus Preached. We
need to Emphasize and Preach repentance in
alignment with Redemption. Confessing our sins is
only half of it, the bible says “whoso confesseth and
forsaketh”
There is a Need for Repentance in the lives of the
unbeliever as well as the believer.
It goes without saying unbelievers need repentance,
but however many believers are latching to and
holding onto sin in their lives and they need to repent
of those sins.

• Remorse
• Sorry you did it
• Sorry you got caught doing it
• Sorrow over doing it
2 Corinthians 7:9–10 KJV 1900
9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry,
but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye
were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye
might receive damage by us in nothing.
10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to
salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow
of the world worketh death.
Sorrow leads to Repentance but it is not
repentance itself
• Suffering because it
• Regret
• Wishing you would have never did it
• Recompense
• Trying to make payment or repayment over
what was done wrong
Repentance Is
Conviction
Psalm 38:4 KJV 1900
4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: As
an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
Psalm 51:3 KJV 1900
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: And my
sin is ever before me.

Acts 2:37 KJV 1900
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in
their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of
the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we
do?
Confession
Proverbs 28:13 KJV 1900
13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: But
whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have
mercy.
1 John 1:9 KJV 1900
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Conversion
Make no mistake about it, Repentance requires
Change. If there is no change there is no
Repentance
Psalm 51:12–13 KJV 1900
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And
uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And
sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Acts 3:19 KJV 1900
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that
your sins may be blotted out, when the times of
refreshing shall come from the presence of the
Lord;
Let me ask you, have you ever repented of your
sin. It does not matter if it is one sin or one
thousand sins or if it is one million sins.

Repentance is necessary.
If you once made a profession of faith but never
repented friend you need to repent, if we don’t
turn from our sins how can we declare we are
turning to Jesus. To be honest if you never
repented, I worry if you are born again. Being
born again is not only confessing but converting.
If you confessed without conversion you should
go back to calvary and ensure that you convert to
ensure that you got it
Consecration
Romans 12:1–2 KJV 1900
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which
is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable,
and perfect, will of God.

The Father
Mark 1:14–15 KJV 1900
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came
into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of
God,
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom
of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Luke 13:1–5 KJV 1900
1 There were present at that season some that told
him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had
mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye
that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the
Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all
likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam
fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners
above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all
likewise perish.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a
right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not
thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And
uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And
sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God
of my salvation: And my tongue shall sing aloud of
thy righteousness.

set bread before him, and he did eat.
When I study the life of David I see him as a Changed
man after this point, he was not perfect but he was
different.
Once you personally apply repentance to your life,
you will be spiritually transformed. You will not be
perfect but you will be different.

shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he
that doeth the will of my Father which is in

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord,
