Psalm 19 KJV 1900
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, And night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language, Where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. 6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, And his circuit unto the ends of it: And there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: And in keeping of them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me: Then shall I be upright, And I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, And the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

I. Revelation in creation

Psalm 19:1–7 KJV 1900
The Psalmest begins with a utterance full of joy
the heavens declare the glory of God...
the sky above proclaimes his handywork...
There is nothing untouched by God!
Day unto day
The Psalmest continues
Psalm 19:2 KJV 1900
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, And night unto night sheweth knowledge.
His care did not end at creation because each day and each night his knowledge is revealed
What are the things that God dose for you each day?
Psalm 19:3–5 KJV 1900
3 There is no speech nor language, Where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
again the psalmest shows the reach of God nowhere is the voice of God not heard
The entire universe demands the existance of God and it declares it!
notice vers 6
Psalm 19:6 CSB
6 It rises from one end of the heavens and circles to their other end; nothing is hidden from its heat.
The decleration rises at the ends of the universe and then circles to the other end what a beutiful picture
The heavens declare the glory of God!

II. Revelation in His Word

Psalm 19:7–14 KJV 1900
David uses a set of analogies
David did not have the whole but he had a complete record of the statutes and preceps that God had given to Isriel in the law
The law of the Lord is perfect,
(means blameless emphisizing personal itegrety)
The Perfect Law revives the soul
The reviving of the soul makes the man to be returned or restored to the place from which sin had cast him.
The practical effect of the Word of God is to turn the man
to himself,
to his God,
to holiness;
the conversion is not outward alone, "the soul" is moved and renewed.
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
God bears his testimony against sin, and on behalf of righteousness; he testifies of our fall and of our restoration;
making wise the simple;
Humble, candid, teachable minds receive the word,
the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure, (emphisizing moral purity)
enlightening the eyes;
revealing the object, ennobling the organ
the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true, (highlights the trustworthyness of God’s law)
and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
Psalm 19:11–14 KJV 1900
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: And in keeping of them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me: Then shall I be upright, And I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, And the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
The law serves as a warning against evil and brings reward to those who keep it
12 Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults.
David petitions God for forgivness
13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me!
David asks God to keep him from sin
Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.
Same word as above the emphisis is on integrety
Psalm 19:14 KJV 1900
14 Let the words of my mouth, And the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
David makes a final decloration
let the words of my mouth be acceptable in your sight
let the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight
Lord you are my Rock!
